Over 7,000 people from 40+ countries came to Moonshot by TechCabal this year!
It was my fourth year leading marketing for it. Since the first edition, attendance has grown 3.1x and ticket revenue 12.5x.
I like to think back to 2023 when I had just become Growth Lead. I struggled to delegate, had no real marketing systems, and knew little about events beyond my core skill, performance marketing.
Four editions later, working on Moonshot has made me a far better and more rounded Growth professional.
After three years achieving incredible milestones, the work can start to feel routine. So this year, I took on some of the most exciting projects of my career:
→ I built dynamic website timers and a pop-up deployment tool with time-based messaging complete with GA4 tracking. A pop-up subscription alone used to cost us $195/month
→ I set up conversion tracking across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter, LinkedIn and Google Ads, with server-side tracking through Stape. We averaged 14X ROAS on Snapchat and around 15X on Meta (Both wild to me).
→ I made GA4 our source of truth, with cross-domain tracking (since we sold on an external site) and proper exploration funnels. This showed me our conversion rate, which platforms sold which ticket tiers the most, which days performed best and why.
→ I tested more than 80 sets of creatives in six weeks. It's true what they say: the marketer with the most creatives wins.
None of it would have mattered without an exceptional team which is why I'd specifically like to thank the core marketing team @Tranquil_inks, @joshuer_x, @David_Onugha,
@AlexVivyNnabue, first for attending my daily stand-ups, pushing so many strong social, email, influencer and community-led initiatives and generating such a buzz that people were hunting for Moonshot tickets across nearly every social channel.
To the design team:@aderemi_adesida, @osazeyyh @chechekalu thank you for being even more audacious this year, infusing motion and other interesting elements and creating a brand identity so recognisable that people now easily associate certain colours and patterns with Moonshot.
To the video team: @AbisolaAlawode, @aquila_creator @TEEETO_A for creating an extremely strong base with the launch videos and transforming our briefs into such high-quality videos.
What started as a Slack thread is now one of the most important tech conferences in Africa and next year, we become a truly global destination!

They said African languages were too fragmented, too complex and too commercially insignificant to build advanced AI for.
We disagreed. So we built it.
64 languages. 166 voices. 3 billion parameters. ONE model.
Today, we are unveiling STORM-Ensemble 3.0, the most capable multilingual speech synthesis model we have built at PlotWeaver.
From Yorùbá, Igbo, Hausa and Nigerian Pidgin to Swahili, Amharic, Wolof, Zulu, Xhosa and dozens more, STORM-Ensemble 3.0 generates speech across 64 languages, with 166 distinct speaker voices.
Every voice you hear is generated by our model, not a prerecorded sample.
But the real breakthrough isn't the numbers.
It's what becomes possible when this technology is in the hands of people who can build with it.
-African filmmakers distributing stories across languages.
-Banks and telcos serving customers in their mother tongues.
-Education platforms reaching more children.
-Developers building voice AI products without starting from scratch.
We are not building AI for African languages simply to prove it can be done. We are building the infrastructure to make our languages commercially viable at global scale.
Next week, I will be speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in Antigua about unlocking the Commonwealth's creative potential. This launch is a practical demonstration of that ambition.
Africa must not simply consume the future of AI. We must build, own and shape the infrastructure that powers it.
Watch the video. Listen to the voices. Imagine what's possible.
Introducing STORM-Ensemble 3.0.
PlotWeaver. Build Once. Speak Every Language.

Today is my last day at @moniepoint.
I’ve made the decision to dedicate my time fully to building @pewbeam_ai. I believe deeply in what we’re building and its potential to shape the kind of future I want to live in, and I’m excited to give it my undivided attention.
It has been a privilege to contribute to Moniepoint’s mission of providing financial happiness for every African.
As a Product Designer on the Cards team, I had the opportunity to contribute to improving the product’s user experience and design, helping make it more intuitive and useful for the people who rely on it.
I’m grateful to everyone I had the opportunity to work with. I’ve learned a great deal from the people around me, and I know those lessons will serve me well as I enter this next chapter.
Now, it’s time to build 🚀

I have discovered the the BEST way to get 3D modeling results from LLMs
The app LiDAR scans the room while taking hundreds of high quality photos.
Then a workflow + skill I've created models out every item recursively checking the model against the photo at the exact spot + angle where the photo was captured
The result is a a dimensionally accurate and high quality model of your room

Up to $200,000 to switch your career into AI safety.
It's a grant, not a job, so there's no contract and no equity.
BlueDot grants:
• Career Transition Grants: up to $200K to go full-time on the switch, usually starting at $20K
• Rapid Grants: up to $20K for living costs, compute, travel or events
• Fully remote
• You don't need to have taken any of their courses
• Covers AI safety and biosecurity work
Their words: "You do not need a conventional AI safety background."
What to know:
• Transition grants are full-time only, and you'll need evidence you're already making the move
• Some countries can't receive payments, so check their list first
• Unused money goes back if you land a job mid-grant
• Master's and PhD programs generally aren't funded

Video editors are going to hate this.
GitHub has free tools that can automate subtitles, remove silences, clean audio, and speed up editing.
Here are 10 repos that feel like cheating:
1. Auto-Editor
Automatically cut dead air from recordings. Adjust the pauses you keep and export editable timelines for Premiere, Resolve, or Final Cut. Free command-line tool.
github.com/WyattBlue/auto-ed…
2. AutoSubs
Generate subtitles on your computer, identify speakers, and send captions directly into DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, or After Effects.

3. DeepFilterNet
Suppress background noise in voice recordings locally. Clean up your audio track before putting it back into your video.
github.com/Rikorose/DeepFilt…
4. Audio Separator
Split vocals and instrumental music into separate tracks using pretrained models. Process the parts independently instead of fighting the whole mix.
github.com/nomadkaraoke/pyth…
5. PySceneDetect
Automatically detect scene changes and split long videos into individual clips. Export timestamps without manually marking every cut.
github.com/Breakthrough/PySc…
6. FFsubsync
Fix subtitles that appear too early or too late. Automatically align an existing subtitle file with the speech in your video.
github.com/smacke/ffsubsync
7. FunClip
Cut videos by selecting words from the transcript. Choose passages or speakers, then export the matching footage with subtitles.
github.com/modelscope/FunCli…
8. StoryToolkitAI
Search your footage by meaning, find relevant moments, and assemble story selections you can export into your editing software.
github.com/octimot/StoryTool…
9. Shutter Encoder
Convert and compress footage through a desktop interface built around FFmpeg. Prepare your media without memorizing command-line options.
github.com/paulpacifico/shut…
10. Editly
Assemble videos from reusable instructions. Combine clips, images, titles, transitions, and music, with automatic audio ducking and normalization.

Most people in France can't afford housing.
They didn't blame immigrants, or transgender people, or video games, or avocado toast.
They blame the government. Because that's who's responsible. That's always who's responsible.

Soft launching +EV: plusev.tech/. @EV_Fellowship
I think this is *very* important for the world.. Otherwise I'd retire 🫠
Notes:
> It's NOT a venture fund
> The goal is to unblock top ambition/talent, underserved young people with big dreams. Where do small grants/mentorship make a *real* difference?
> Every company and person helping/contributing time, capital, compute credits is (obviously) doing this pro-bono.
> The goal is ambition with social good in *some* way... Meme coin trading apps, etc aren't the target. Again, this isn't a venture fund.
> Literally launching, so be patient if website issues etc
> If you want to help, please email: [email protected]!
> With the rise of AI, most applications for anything get a lot of noise & bullshit... It's easy to spam them! The vast majority of people will be rejected for obvious reasons. If you don't get an interview, you're rejected. The point of this is to cater to the top 1% underserved, young people who *could* change the world but don't have the connections, capital, mentorship. This does *not* cater to the 99%.
