The best article on intelligence and agi I have read since the launch of gpt!
Very well articulated @IAmPascio !
Totally agree that intelligence isn’t just about the model thing!
It would be interesting to see if laptop manufacturers would restrict running a certain set of open models ?
In a scenario where this turns out to be a global situation where governments dictate the terms 🙃
But, models are surprisingly intelligent where people can build their own os too! #aisafety #thoughts

It used to be that if you talked like a self-important windbag you'd face headwinds in your life, but now you've got a bright future as a frontier LLM.

I believe so strongly in open source just from the perspective that no one can claim ownership of ideas and knowledge. The more we share, the more we benefit. "We" is the key word.

Sorry to say this, but If you think your job as software engineer is dead because of AI you must not be a very good engineer.

If Anthropic has a trillion dollar valuation while Google has a $4.5 trillion valuation, there are only two conclusions to be drawn
Either Anthropic is incredibly overpriced or Google is incredibly underpriced. The trick is to figure out which one is right
I came back to code because AI made it possible for me to build at a level I couldn't before.
I'm not coding despite being CEO of YC. I'm coding because this is the most important technological shift since the internet and I'd be an idiot to experience it from the bleachers.
I'm 45, running the most important startup institution in the world, and I can ship production software at 2am. That's not a distraction from the job.
That is the job understood correctly.

Every time I visit Hyderabad, I come away with a distinct impression of it being India’s truly future ready big metropolis that combines old world charm with new age energies .. . If I had any choice as to which city should be showcased as India’s Olympic host in 2036, Hyderabad would be right on top. Has the sports infra, land bank, big ticket project efficiency, vibrant service sector, multi cultural ethos (multiple language proficiency) to be seriously considered. Has a rich sports history too (India’s contemporary badminton capital!). Agree? (Pl feel free to suggest options and why).
