Like the Star Wars prequels, I will be vindicated by history.
The “no one else is running” part seems especially key. Ordinarily you can’t beat someone in an election if you don’t have a candidate.
Hell yeah. You simply cannot win an election on affordability and immediately nuke an affordability bill.
NEW: @RepDavids, one of the few elected Native Americans, is "breaking with her party’s leadership to demand swift action on critical permitting reform," her office says in press release. Davids, a member of @NewDems, adds she is working with negotiators to "fix" NHPA provisions
If the country still exists in 2029, Democrats won’t even have to nuke the filibuster because they’ll have 65 Senate seats
There are many dimensions to this, but a lot of what voters read as "liberal" vs "moderate" is the culture war stuff. It's why Twitter leftists think Kamala is a right-wing quisling and normal people think she's a hard-left ideologue.
I don't really want to just chalk this up to bigotry, but is there another reason we're singling him out when Jackson, Stratton, Hamilton, and Flanagan have all said they won't back Schumer? Talarico has basically said it. Warren, Sanders, and Slotkin were already on the fence.
I can only speak for myself, but I'm not just being polite. I want trans people to feel accepted and know that the choices they make are just as valid as anyone else's. The sports thing is one of the few places where there's real friction between two sets of goals.
Eh, I think the "never" is an overstatement (who knows what the future holds?), but broadly this is an 80-20 issue and the most useful thing you can do if you're pro-trans is get everyone to dial down the passion and let sports leagues handle it on their own.
It’ll never stop being funny how many eggs they put in the Talafreako basket. He’s the most normal ass white boy imaginable, the kind of guy your grandma calls a “nice young man.” Just impossible to take them seriously.
Some people are mad about Dems not investing more in Florida, but in retrospect it looks like Louisiana was the biggest fumble.
I fundamentally don't understand why people are mad. It is *unquestionable* that the Dems just won a huge mandate to govern on affordability above all else. Investigation is also going to happen, but the leader of the party HAS to speak for the people who just put him in power.
I'd especially emphasize "decent" here. Don't run Islamophobic loons just because they're moderate. Run moderates who are KIND.

There are obviously good politics reasons to be more conciliatory than this, but it feels really good to see a politician call these people what they are. Rogers is a bad person who ran an evil campaign. Good riddance, asshole.
