The sum total of this NYT story is that Zohran Mamdani’s press team sends positive text messages about Zohran to a set of pundits who happen to be on social media and not employed by corporate media. You’re somehow asked to believe this is some sort of scandal.
If you switch the places of “influencers” and “traditional reporters” in this sentence, you’re describing how things have operated with corporate media for decades. So basically corporate media is just mad that things are changing.
