In which I lay out my scientific formula for why “Rich Girl” is the Perfect Song™️. thecolloquial.com/rich-girl-…
I think having kids is the delineator for transplants like me. Only live here 9.5 years but have had 2 kids in the city and we stayed here which I think should count for extra years credit 😂 But I will always be a an Alabamian-New Yorker.

The background on how/when this became the consensus actually is interesting to me. Where I would disagree is that 10 years becomes relative. Ex: a 25 year old working and living in the city, then leaving at 35 to start family because to them “NY isn’t a good place to raise kids in” is a story I’ve heard verbatim. I wouldn’t consider them to be a New Yorker but others would since they reached the 10 year mark?
lol how many other NYC parents were right in the middle of bedtime when that emergency alert went off?! @NYCMayor, pro tip, next time give a dad a warning, bro
I feel like I dip in and out of here so infrequently and talk about such a wide range of topics in my responses people are going to think I am some form of bot or asset, and that's maybe the biggest problem with modern social media and our trust in fellow humans.
Every Bama fan asking why we didn’t hire Cig is being willfully ignorant of how they would react to us hiring the newly hired coach of Indiana out of JMU instead of a coach who was in that years CFP final. Just not a realistic thought to have.
I’m glad I kept all my dunking on A&M in the group chat because the cocks are totally about to blow this.

My favorite thing about this potential blowout is the national sportswriters and pundits using it to “hurr durr” Alabama when I’m watching like this:

conference wars are pointless at this point, but the ACC champions going 0-3 against *that* conference by a total score of 89-44 is funny.
My big hang up is SMU and Indiana got lucky, but fans of the three 3 loss SEC teams are constantly being told we have no right to feel like we got unlucky. If this is the result you wanted, don’t expect everyone feel a certain way about it.

Right, and how teams get ranked isn't exactly a science, either, right? If ranked wins matter, unranked losses have to, too.
This is an invitational with the goal of inclusion. SEC teams each had shots to win and lose games to be included. Some did a better job than others with a varied schedule. Some will just be unlucky. Erase all doubt, that's not on the committee.
I feel like we are all forgetting the fact that the 12 team playoff was originated with the idea that the pac-12 would exist.
