Soldiers and officers at the 3rd (UK) Division โ the UKโs premier armoured warfighting unit โ were due to qualify later this year as tank commanders on a Cyclone exercise.
But the exercise was cancelled at the end of the summer to save money, and soldiers were unable to complete their training. It left the Army without a full complement of Challenger 2 tank commanders, The Telegraph understands.
