design is not about the figma you made.
design is all about how your vision gets implemented & used by users.
your pixel perfect figma is worthless if you can’t realize it in the end product, whether the medium is code or something else.

There are a sophisticated set of enabling technologies, but the feature’s goal was incredibly simple: to capture the vitality of the world around us. The Live Photo patent has a picture of my daughter as a toddler spinning in a dress in front of our house. As with a Live Photo, the more time passes, the more endearing it’s become.
live photos hit this perfect intersection of tech & tenderness. it might be the most quietly brilliant thing apple ever made. it’s a subtle wordless trick that turns stillness into something breathing.
i just stumbled on one & it hit like a gut punch. ridiculous that all photos have a tiny slice of life before the pose, the laugh or blink right before the photo froze… it makes your chest ache hardcore esp for a memory you can never ever have again.

How to be a designer:
- Find an arbitrary rule and follow it religiously.
- Be disappointed in someone else’s work.
- Call their problem “simple” without any knowledge of the constraints they faced.
- Insist that it would never have happened in the Steve Jobs era.
How can @Apple mess up a simple corner radius calculation on the new iPhone Air?
