$879 to heat and cool our home AND propel our electric vehicle 17,500 km in 2023. Of course free Supercharging and free charging @ work are enormous savings, without which our annual costs would have been $2074. Solar Energy + Heat Pumps + Electric Vehicles

Filling up for free at work for the 687th time since 2017. So many thousands saved over gas I stopped tracking it years ago. That is all.

So @elonmusk Why is xAI breaking EPA rules in Mississippi whilst powering its data centers when you can contain that energy and heat local homes and businesses? You talk about saving humanity but you are willing to help destroy it so people can ask “grok is dis true?”

Late to this. When I saw it last week I just dismissed it as random slop from some juvenile MAGA account. I just learned that the President of the United States himself posted this image of a map with Canada as part of the USA. He did so *before* PM Carney spoke at Davos. Our sovereignty is not a joke. Those who went before us overcame huge adversity to build Canada as a proud, distinctive, albeit improbable country. A country that, despite its real flaws, is regarded as a beacon of opportunity & ordered liberty around the world. I cannot understand the attitude of some Canadians - especially some of my fellow Conservatives - who are indifferent to this constant mockery and belittlement by the head of state of what used to be our closest ally. In any normal time, this👇alone would be a major diplomatic incident that would result in démarching the US Ambassador, possibly recalling our own Ambassador for consultations, international and congressional condemnation, etc.. But Trump has dumbed down deviancy so much that another threat to annex a free & sovereign neighbour goes almost unnoticed. And yet we have quislings here who blame Canada for having provoked this unhinged behaviour. Who cannot understand why Canadians are anxious and insulted. Who dismiss as a distraction Trump’s threat to “use economic force” to annex Canada; or his actual use of such force to disrupt our economy; or to insult the honour of our fallen soldiers. No, this is not the “art of the deal.” No, it’s not “just a joke.” No, it’s not “Trump Derangement Syndrome” to be disgusted by constant threats toward and denigration of our country. To the blame Canada crowd: have some respect. If not for yourself, then for those who built this country, and those who died for it.

Donald Trump is telling Canada that we are not free to pursue trading relationships with foreign countries. Successive Canadian governments did NOTHING to stop total Canadian dependence on the United States. Turner was right. Nobody listened.

Incredible. But hey, serving popcorn (slowly) is way more useful to society.

After 3 years of useful notifications our @Sense system has gone dumb. I receive numerous notifications like this every single day. Compared to 2024 our consumption is up only 5.85%. Much like @Google Home products, @Sense appears to be another smart device going down the toilet.

From next week, your $1,600 iPhone will cost $2,150. But don't worry. In just 4 years, after Apple spends a few hundred Billion $ building new factories in the United States, shifts all supply chains, hires and trains factory workers, you will be able to buy that iPhone for just $5,000. It will bring new jobs to America which is going to boost the economy! It just means you will have $3,400 less to spend at your local restaurant, your local cinema, and that trip to California you've been planning with your family. And it'll mean all of those other US businesses will suffer. But it's ok. When those businesses go bust, the employees can go and work in a brand new t-shirt factory for $2 an hour because those t-shirts will no longer be made in Vietnam. There is a reason wealthy nations outsource low skill work while migrating the economy to higher skill jobs. That reason is not "pillaging and r*ping" by other countries. It's basic common sense. It's the same reason rich people don't clean their own houses or wash their own cars. It's because their time is better spent doing more productive things that make more money so that these things can be outsourced.

Trump is Misleading you on Canadian Tariffs! Trump and Republicans keep claiming that Canada has a 250% tariff on US dairy products. This is extremely misleading for a few reasons: 1) These tariffs are only in effect when Canada imports over 13 million gallons of milk, 27.56 million pounds of cheese, or 11.02 million pounds of butter/cream in a sing year. Otherwise the tariffs on dairy are mostly around 0%. Canada rarely ever, exceeds these quotas. 2) Trump is the one who agreed to these tariffs when he helped create and sign the USMCA trade agreement. Stop buying into the misleading propaganda.
