Today, I stopped #reading self-help #books & started reading help-others books. Time to put #people first, #support them & #challenge them. I hope I will soon have a nice large collection for this category of book recommendations #goodreads
When you're 5, you can be mad for a day.
When you're 15, you can be mad for an hour or 2.
Around 30, you get 10 minutes & then you have to move on.
Life is full of moments of frustration & disappointment.
Growth & maturity is learning to pull yourself out of a bad state faster.
#Travel is a great way to counter confirmation bias. Confirmation bias is the unconscious #human tendency to #search for, interpret, favour & recall #information that aligns with our preexisting beliefs while actively ignoring or discrediting contradictory evidence.
When you #explore other #cultures & ways of #living, you see that there are many definitions of a good #life & many ways to be #happy. Not everyone wants what you want. Encourage #serendipity in your #experiences. Give yourself the #chance to #experience the unexpected.
The lens of #travel can help you untangle #problems back at #home in many ways. The #distance, both physical & #psychological, also gives you the #opportunity to #observe yourself in your regular #life without the day-to-day pressures clouding your #judgment.
As a developer with a endless #wishlist of things I wish I could have done or tried out, now I rapidly #prototype & #build complex ideas/#projects where I knew exactly what I had to do. I am still #learning & #improving my #understanding. Just did multi repo #coding using #codex.
Today #codex is outright complaining & not doing work as expected, says "Consider scheduling focused #development time (or additional resources)". How will it replace #developers? Token usage: total=4,06,697 input=2,91,692 (+ 2,07,99,616 cached) output=1,15,005 (reasoning 99,072)
An experienced #developer who can talk well, imagine, articulate, define problem statements, #architect & #engineer has a massive advantage over someone who cannot, more disproportionately than ever. #Knowledge of specific #language, syntax & frameworks is no longer a bottleneck.
#Humans fundamentally do not deal well with an #infinite supply of anything, especially #choices. Completely unsurprising because we are heavily constrained #biological beings that have evolved on a finite #planet with finite #resources to live out finite #lifetimes.
Writing good #software was a high-#effort, high-#cost, high-#skill #endeavour. #cognitive #bandwidth, #team #coordination & #communication were bottlenecks. we will now find more dilettantes generating software than ever. the cost of just trying out things/experiments is now low.
The amount of #money getting paid to #human labour is about to go down. Where #financial ills & stresses increase, #social ills follow in terms of broken #relationships, addictive behaviour & despair.
