My community college English Department is hosting Arturo Rodriguez (recently retired from the UFW presidency), for ChavezDay, 30 March, 10:00. Open to the community.

I hiked 19 miles along Lone Star Trail yesterday, in Sam Houston Natl Forest. Weather great; trail empty, creeks nicely flowing. Dog Ajax enjoyed the six hours so he could sniff everything possible to sniff. Today, my body regrets it. Note: bring trekking stick.

It used to be easier.

I fostered a very wet and cold bird yesterday. Couldn't fly off the ground. I felt it would freeze last night. Got him dry and I just released him, successfully. That's him in my micro canoe. It didn't like to sit for a good pic. Sorry. But he's gone, cheers. – at Spring, TX
