Are MPs out of touch with their constituents?
*NEW* @ECIU_UK polling suggests maybe...
Just 19% of MPs think people in their constituency would support onshore wind in the local area
Reality is 77% people would support it.

Climate change capitalists are blocking roads with their "Just Flood London" campaign.
Disgusting, but where are the police?

In that case, no one should welcome quantitative tightening: it is a weapon being used by the Bank of England to harm the people of this country. Economics rarely comes much nastier or more deceitful than this.

4. What is their consumption-based per capita footprint? This adjusts for emissions embedded in traded goods.

Sorry to repeat myself, but you *really* need to know this.
Under the government's Public Order Bill, anyone who has protested in the previous 5 years can be forced to "submit to ... being fitted with, or the installation of, any necessary apparatus" to monitor your movements.

I have done a lot of Twitter threads of late on how worrying almost everything about the UK economy is, and for good reason. But I think it’s only fair to do one that says it really need not be like this. Read on….

Coca Cola is the single largest plastic polluter in the world— at over 3 million tonnes of plastic packaging each year.
Now Coke is sponsoring the world's largest climate conference (#COP27), in a desperate attempt to greenwash their legacy of ecocide.

🚨 SHOCKING: Top Conservative donor Lord Frost has openly called offshore wind turbines "medieval technology" and urged the next Prime Minister not to "hector" people on the need to "save the planet".
Renewables aren't medieval, but thinking climate change isn't serious is.

"We found that the overall upfront cost to replace all energy in the 145 countries which emit 99.7% of world CO2 is about $62 trillion.
"However, due to $11 trillion annual energy cost savings, the payback time for the new system is less than 6 years."

Genuine question . Could someone please post a link to a clear explanation of why the energy price caps are being increased . Because superficially it seems that it’s providing the suppliers with colossal profits and a counterproductive dependence on dirtier fossil fuels . Thanks

NEW from @IpsosUK - where is the political centre and what does this mean for current hot topics such as tax, strikes, public ownership etc? Quick thread:
1/ Public overall lean pro public ownership, right to strike but also strict limits on immigration / aid & tough on crime.

We're up shit creek without a paddle. For the last 50 years our lying political leaders have misled the public that they had plans to address this crisis. The crisis is unfolding, and it's now crystal clear they've no plan and intend to do more of what is driving the crisis.

FOR HEALTH’S SAKE These medics aren’t here at No 10 for a laugh, this is a serious crisis hugely affecting the health of populations around the world, as well as threatening our very existence. We must #ActNow & stop investing in fossil fuels & turbo charge renewable energy

Replying to @eroston
So it sounds like RECs are little more than some offsetting, that doesn't really reduce emissions from the energy companies use.
Wonder if we'll see a shift in green funds to reflect the companies buying real renewable energy contacts, not just accounting tweaks.
