Incredible turnaround in #Brazil where voters came out to give #Lula a clear win in 2nd round of election. What a champion! This & #Serbian Student List win must give hope for parties of inclusion, sustainability, & decency everywhere. Next #NZ? theguardian.com/world/2026/o…

Luxon blames 300,000+ Kiwis for not enrolling and blames the Electoral Commission, but takes no responsibility for changing the law in the first place. There's literally no gain. The only outcome is disenfranchising 300,000+ Kiwis! They went out of their way to do this!

Just a reminder that National and Act think freedom of choice means “do as you’re told or else.” They use this argument against collective bargaining. Most Kiwis will not push for higher pay or better conditions. Nat/Act know this. Fair Pay Agreements will help fix NZ

Most OECD countries automatically register eligible citizens to vote using existing government records. Individuals simply show up at the polls with an authorized ID. The primary responsibility for voter registration lies with the state. BUT NOT IN NZ - A MAJOR OUTLIER AS USUAL.

"Real democracies make it easier to vote". Not in New Zealand, where the coalition govt forced a law changes to exclude many young voters from the election. Every National, Act or NZ First voter is complicit with this, and with many of the lies currently spread by this govt.
'I don't care' what anyone says, the RW new that this form of voter suppression would work in their favour. REAL DEMOCRACIES make it easier for citizens to vote not harder. Then Luxon says coalition negotiations will take as long as required so there was no real urgency anyway!!!

Luxon "it'll take as long as it takes"...negotiations would wait for the final count...nearly 3 weeks after polling day. Nat/Act/NZ1st changed the law on a lie that it would give a quicker result. It was about preventing thousands of people from voting. rnz.co.nz/news/politics_elec…

This govt's calculated decision to block enrolment in the last two weeks before the November 7 election may deprive as many as 64,000 18-24-year-olds of the ability to vote. This number is more than enough to change an election result.

capitalism’s greatest trick was convincing the working class to dream of being rich instead of questioning why they’re poor.

ACT wants to scrap the firearms register, National/ACT want punitive welfare cuts. Both love boot camps & prisons while gutting jobs. That's a recipe for more gangs & violence. Prison doesn't undo a crime. They are soft on preventing crime and their policies cause more of it.

It’s not a "cost of living crisis" - it’s a cost of billionaires crisis. They're bleeding us dry, degrading democracy and propping up the dictators and autocrats.

Capital gains tax has kept the housing market affordable in most of developing countries in OECD and helped diverting money from unproductive (housing speculation) to productive parts of the economy. We are building our economy on housing bubble which is IDIOTIC.
