Vivek Ramaswamy seeks to take political advantage of the fact that his opponent was raped as a child. But to his credit, unlike many other Republican politicians, he was not personally the rapist in question.
Claiming that the problems of NYC pubiic schools are caused by “segregation” is a convenient way to avoid acknowledging the structural and budgetary problems that plague the school system so they can claim that the solution is something that can never fully be satisfied
"After Nikole Hannah-Jones repeatedly asked the chancellor about a systemwide plan, Samuels did not commit to any specific integration policies, nor did he offer a timeline for offering a more detailed plan, repeatedly drawing jeers" from the crowd.

People who spend all their time doing critical theory should not be in charge of anything.

The horrible deaths, oppression, and suffering that communism inflicted on China, Vietnam, Russia, etc are easy to look up, and yet, we are somehow obliged to persist in taking people seriously when they say they're communists.
So I have wanted to buy a pair of $300 speakers. However, this month I had a bunch of other expenses and bought a bunch of things I needed so… I’m just putting off buying those speakers until next month. But I realize other people don’t have my same level of self control

There is only one New York City. There will never be another.
Those who left, we welcome you back with open arms.

Conservatives when I pointed out that their own preferred media sources were the only reason anyone ever saw that (Instagram reel only!) Bud Light ad they hated so much.

There’s an argument that both the Han dynasty and the Roman Empire failed due to a massive expansion of property/land tax exemptions in a very similar vein to prop 13.
“I joke in my class that it’s the ‘Ur tax,' because they taxed it in Ur.”

Ohio literally has drive-through liquor stores colloquially known as “beer barns”. Saying “this candidate used to drink a lot” just confirms their authentic Ohioness

For a while all they had was "Amy drinks" and it's like "yeah, welcome to Ohio". Vivek ain't a real one.
Europe is so not worth working in now compared to the US, but the funny thing is that now that this is true, I have FINALLY had my EU citizenship registered so I can live and work anywhere in the EU with no problem.

People are hating on this by calling it the Hudson Yards of SF.
What they’re missing is that, while Hudson Yards is full of 1000s of the cringiest transplants imaginable, without the Hudson Yards containment zone, these folks would be all over NYC!
We need more Hudson Yards!
One of San Francisco's largest redevelopment projects could completely transform nearly 19 acres of land near Downtown.
Plans are moving forward for the redevelopment of the Caltrain Railyards at 4th and King in SoMa.
The project could include:
• Up to 5,834 apartments
• Up to 5.6 million SF of commercial space
• 160,000+ SF of retail
• A completely rebuilt Caltrain station
• More than 4 acres of public open space
• Multiple skyscrapers reaching 350 to 600 feet
• A potential 850-foot tower
This land is currently occupied by railroad tracks, platforms, maintenance facilities and the existing Caltrain station.
The proposal would modernize the transit infrastructure, relocate train storage and maintenance, and create an entirely new mixed-use neighborhood above and around the station.
Thousands of people could be living, working, shopping and spending time in what is currently a massive rail yard.
And all directly connected to one of the Bay Area's most important transit corridors.
The project is now entering environmental review, with construction potentially starting in 2029 and taking 15 to 20 years to complete....
There's obviously a long road ahead, but I love seeing developers think this big about underutilized urban land.
This could completely reshape SF.
