A 30-day hedge doesn’t need 30 days of interest. Once RWAs can be posted as collateral, the financing terms decide whether the strategy is still worth doing.

Early exit has a cost. The question is who bears it, and whether that’s clear upfront. Fixed rates and matched terms help you plan. They don’t make cash arrive on time. The contract still needs to spell out what happens if you leave early or payment arrives late. We’re building so that cost is priced into the term before you borrow — not discovered after cash is late or someone needs out.

Exactly. That's where most RWA protocols get cute and pretend liquidity problems don't exist. Early exit mechanisms cost real money—either borrowers pay for it or lenders eat losses. Nobody wants to admit which.

Late cash flows expose the real gap—fixed terms work until they don't. Have you seen platforms actually handle deferrals without blowing up the model?
Replying to @sergei000
Good point. Fixed rates and matched terms make funding easier to plan around. The real test is what happens when cash flows arrive late or someone needs out early.

we keep this account calm. for sharper opinions and spicier takes on DeFi lending, follow our intern @constintern
i'm the @constant_fi intern. job: roast bad lending takes — borrow cost treated as optional, floating sold as safe, yield numbers that hide rate risk. if the thread skips the cost of money, that's the post.

A lower rate can still mean a more expensive loan. Before refinancing, compare staying vs switching over the same expected borrow window: new rate and term, plus settling the old loan (principal + accrued interest). Does switching actually leave you better off?

Two cities. Two massive events. One unforgettable experience for the Constant Finance team. 🇰🇷🇸🇬 From the electric energy at Korea Blockchain Week to the global buzz at Token2049 Singapore, we connected with builders, innovators, and believers shaping the future of finance. Every conversation reminded us why we're building Constant Finance—a more stable, accessible, and transparent financial future for everyone. The momentum is real. The community is unstoppable. And we're just getting started. 🚀✨ Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared ideas, added our socials, or just said hello. See you at the next one.

Refinancing is routine in traditional finance. In DeFi’s fixed-rate markets, the cost of closing an old loan can still absorb the benefit of a lower new rate.

The team is in Singapore 🇸🇬 Plenty to get done ahead of @TOKEN2049, but there’s always time for chicken rice. At a hawker centre, we know exactly what we’ll pay before we order. Borrowing should come with that same clarity. With variable-rate DeFi lending, though, the rate you see today can change tomorrow. Constant Finance keeps it simple: fixed rate, fixed term. Borrow for 7 days, pay interest for 7 days.

You can be right about a DeFi trade and still lose money because your borrowing rate changed. Imagine finding a strategy that needs funding for 30 days. You check the borrowing rate, calculate the expected margin, and open the position. A week later, pool utilization rises. Your borrowing rate increases. The margin you planned around starts to disappear—even if the strategy itself is performing as expected. With variable-rate borrowing, the financing is another moving part you have to manage. That does not make variable-rate lending a bad product. It does mean that choosing a loan based on today’s APR alone can leave an important part of your plan unresolved. For a strategy with a defined horizon, the question should be: “What will this funding cost over the period I need it?” That is the problem we’re working on at Constant Finance, a decentralized fixed-rate, fixed-term lending protocol. Borrowers and lenders choose their terms upfront. Once matched, each loan has its own principal, fixed rate, maturity, and collateral. You can evaluate the agreed interest cost over the scheduled term before committing. And because plans change, we’ve built refinancing into the product. Eligible positions can be replaced with a new loan in one transaction, subject to suitable funding being available. A different rate or term is something you can seek—not something the protocol guarantees. Fixed terms do not remove collateral, liquidation, or smart-contract risk. They let you make the financing decision with the rate and repayment date already defined. Our public beta is live on Ethereum Sepolia. You can explore borrowing, lending, repayment, and refinancing before mainnet. Before your next borrowing decision, look beyond the opening APR. No automated third-party AI marketing tool is used by @constant_fi. A prosperous scene that relies on protocol subsidies is broken unit economics. The rate should be set by the market. Not 7%.

Coinbase just put fixed-rate BTC credit in front of a huge audience. A fixed rate makes the product feel familiar. It does not answer the next question: if the trade ends on day 7 of a 30-day book, what do you actually owe? A fixed rate locks the price of credit. Early-exit terms decide whether that certainty reaches a shorter actual borrowing duration. Without that exit, maturity mismatch stays on the borrower — full face-value dead interest, or a market buyback whose price you cannot know at origination. Pro-rata early repayment creates an interest ceiling: at most the fixed rate for time actually used. Bounded-return strategies can underwrite before they enter. That is the cut our essay Fixed Rates Alone Do Not Resolve Term Mismatch was written for. Constant Finance is on testnet: fixed term, early repayment by actual use, built-in refinancing. Refinance still depends on liquidity and terms. xitter.cf/constant_fi/status/210…
A fixed rate fixes the price of borrowing, not how long you pay for it

You take a 30-day fixed-rate loan. Your trade ends on day 7. What do you actually owe? The APR alone won't tell you. Early-repayment terms matter. Our piece on @Foresight_News looks at that question.

Example: borrow 100,000 USDC; owe 100,600 on day 30. If full face value is still due on day 7, the early exit is 600. At the same rate, 7 days of simple interest would be 140. Fees and slippage excluded. Repayment terms change the comparison.

Early-repayment flexibility has a price: lenders may quote higher rates. Compare total cost over the time you actually borrow. English on X: xitter.cf/constant_fi/status/210… Chinese / Foresight News: a.foresightnews.pro/article/…
