The Anglo-British state, masquerading as the United Kingdom, has a long history of not honouring or abiding by its treaties or contracts, whether international or social.
Hence its nickname: Perfidious Albion

ANDY BURNHAM YOU C**T INSTEAD OF CUTTING THE PENSION WHAT PEOPLE HAVE PAID INTO HOW ABOUT SENDING ALL THE FUCKING ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS BACK.AND PUT THE RETIRING AGE DOWN AND GET THE YOUNG PEOPLE IN TO WORK INSTEAD OF LIVING OF BENIFITS .DO SOMETHING. STOP WASTING TAX PAYERS MONEY.
The intended audience of this high-risk low-reward gambit is the bond market prior to the budget, similar to Reeves delaying announcements until after the OBR locked the bond rate used for their budget calcs so she could announce spending after the cutoff.

Also enough to fund free university education, or every sane tram/metro project ever proposed in every British city.
