Benkired's phone showed searches for "human sacrifice," and Lola's body bore occult markings, suggesting a ritualistic intent. After her murder, Lola’s father drank himself to death. "He drank from morning to night" and "died of grief" in February of 2024, devastated by "his demons", Lola's mother said. Benkired was sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of seeking early release for at least 30 years, becoming the first woman in France to receive this sentence.
