Control over my time is what I seek. If my kid wants me to be present somewhere at 2pm on a Tuesday, I shouldn’t have to check my calendar. I shouldn’t have to say no to a family vacation because ‘work is hectic’. I should get to have dinner with my wife every day.

I am the worst. I say India can't build an Elon, then call Zepto "just a delivery app" while ordering from it at 1am. I say we only build ice cream and cosmetics brands, forgetting that the US builds those too and nobody there calls it a lack of ambition. I demand Indian AI, then roast Sarvam on launch day. I'll quote DoorDash's founder in every thread, but I've never sat through one Deepinder interview. I want "freedom to fail" for founders, but I've never given credit to one who succeeded. I'm a typical Bangalore techie. We keep asking for permission to fail. We haven't even learned to clap when someone wins.

Talked to my IIMA friend and he told me he does not want his kids to go to IIT or IIM. In fact he is happy if they actively don’t want to do IITIIM and have fun in life instead. I suppose that is the real self actualisation end goal of going to IITIIM.
