The @corastillwrites pitch email blew me away, the manuscript floored me & this chapbook will have you looking at statues and bodies and the world in a whole new way. It's fun, funny, and thought-provoking. MOSTLY SOLDIERS is a work of art, for all. stanchionzine.com/product-pa…

Didn't get much writing done yesterday as I went to Bristol for Christmas shopping and an ace/aro meet-up. But today I will make a proper start on Crimean War Thingy. 50,000 words by the end of the month, LFG!

Someone on Reddit is arguing that instead of another 'Master and Commander' movie, the entire Aubrey-Maturin series should be adapted into a 7 season anime. This idea had never crossed my mind and now it's all I can think of.

Since I started working for the NHS in 2024, the amount of casual transphobia I've heard has been really depressing. And yet, trans colleagues keep showing up every day and working their butts off for an organisation that doesn't accept them.

I think the new James Bond should be one of those actors with sticky-out ears because I love that we've randomly decided those are sexy.

If you are a very hairy bloke and you wear the sort of clothes and jewellery that teenage girls wear, you will look like an absolute rock star. I learnt this yesterday, from the Ghosts movie.

My friend sent me this in the post. It's a little the worse for wear but she assures me it's brilliant.

Every woman who lives alone occasionally puts some music on and dances like Taylor Swift in the 'Delicate' video, this is just a fact.

Maybe it's because I only worked 2 days last week, but this week has really dragged. Gonna treat myself to pizza and ice cream tomorrow.

Ok, I have an icky question. TW - incest Why is it that if there are male/female twins in a literary novel, there's a good chance they'll end up f*cking? Twins don't do this in SFF novels. Are literary fiction authors trying to be metaphorical or are they just grosser?

I know National Novel Writing Month isn't much of a thing anymore, but my scene treatment for Crimean War Thingy is finished and I fully intend to spend November writing the first 50K words.

A new post on Stephen Maturin and his complicated relationship to Stoicism. Why did he choose this philosophy to guide him through life? Is he a successful Stoic? Can Cora write a single blog post without mentioning Black Sails? (No) corastillwrites.wordpress.co…

I literally just remembered this is Stanchion's last book. 😭 Going out with a cover I made by writing the title in a pound of salt I poured onto a baking sheet about a hundred times to get it right. Not handmade like @thirtywestph chapbooks but also kinda handmade ya know.
LOOK AT WHAT'S HERE A MONTH EARLY! The test copies of Pantry are beautiful. Get yours for just $11. stanchionzine.com/product-pa…

I am hemorrhaging money running Stanchion right now. If anyone would like a phenomenal book or magazine issue (or a handful of them) please consider buying something. I've seriously published some remarkable work.
