On April 22, 2018, James Shaw Jr. walked into a Waffle House in Antioch, Tennessee, expecting nothing more than breakfast. Minutes later, g*nfire erupted inside the restaurant. Four people had already lost their lives, and the g*nman was still carrying an AR-15 style rifle. Most people would have run. Shaw made a split-second decision that changed everything. Unarmed and acting purely on instinct, Shaw charged the g*nman. He grabbed the rifle by its burning hot barrel with his bare hands and fought to take control of the weapon. His hands were badly burned, but he refused to let go until the rifle was out of the attacker's hands. The g*nman fled, and Shaw's extraordinary courage almost certainly prevented even more innocent people from being k*lled. The country praised him as a hero, but Shaw never accepted that title. He said he was simply trying to survive and protect the people around him. Instead of seeking fame, he launched a fundraiser that collected more than $200,000 for the victims' families. He continued speaking about healing, kindness, and supporting communities affected by violence. Today, the headlines have faded, and many people no longer remember the man who risked everything for complete strangers. But courage like James Shaw Jr.'s should never be forgotten.

"Michael" continues to do it's biggest one! Michael has been breaking records and shattering expectations since landing on the big screen in April. It is now the first biopic to surpass $1B in the worldwide box office. The accomplishment makes it not only the highest-grossing musical biopic ever, but also the biggest film based on a real person.

From the Harvard School of Public Health on Nov. 20, 2025: “[Atul Gawande] wrote a Nov. 5 article in the New Yorker about the devastating impact of the loss of USAID funds around the world … In the article, Gawande cited an analysis in The Lancet that estimated that USAID assistance—aimed at combatting diseases such as HIV, tuberculosis, malaria, and polio, reducing maternal and child deaths, and fighting malnutrition—had saved 92 million lives over two decades. “The dismantling of USAID, according to models from Boston University epidemiologist Brooke Nichols, ‘has already caused the deaths of six hundred thousand people, two-thirds of them children,’ Gawande wrote.” Graham knew this issue more than most in Congress. He knew the suffering. He knew that people would die if the aid was cut. But, he cheered its cutting for political reasons, to do Trump’s budding and stay in the circle of power. Disgusting! I will not mourn a man who callously allowed children to die. @oxfaminternational @oxfamamerica

Other prisoners waited for lawyers, but Isaac Wright Jr. became his own. Wrongly sentenced to life for drug crimes, Wright spent years studying legal books inside a New Jersey prison. His work helped overturn the charge carrying his life sentence and later exposed lies, secret deals, and police misconduct behind the case. The prosecutor connected to his conviction later fled after being convicted on separate federal corruption charges. Wright did not stop at freedom. He eventually became a lawyer himself.
