Well worth your time to read...
Driving home from Nashville a few days ago, the wife wanted to stop in Franklin to do a bit of Christmas shopping. Obedient to her wishes as I am, I make the detour and park. As we strolled along the square, I see an older man sitting alone on a bench. Being the sort who initiates conversation with strangers, I say jokingly: “You look like a man who is waiting for his wife while she spends his money.” He gives me a wan smile and replies: “I wish I was.” His voice cracks. “She passed away last November.” We stop. I extend a sympathetic hand. He shakes it and rises to greet us. Lauri asks him about his wife, and he tells us what a wonderful woman she was and of their 50 years of marriage. His eyes welling with tears, he says he comes to the square and sits on that bench daily to reminisce about her because it was their spot for decades. He seems glad to have someone, even strangers, with whom he can talk. We chat a bit longer, exchange numbers, and I ask him if we can pray for him. A believer, he readily accepts the offer. So, right there on the square in Franklin we pray for the Lord’s comforting presence and peace in his loss. We open our eyes and, at that very moment, a woman walks by hurriedly and reaches for the bench behind this fellow. Only I see it, and I think she might be stealing his phone which he had left on the bench when he rose to speak with us. I walk to the bench to investigate and see that she’s left a card, a little plastic dove glued on it, proclaiming the hope of John 3:16. I look up to see her far down the sidewalk, her brisk pace undiminished, placing them everywhere in her own evangelistic endeavor. God bless her for it. Lauri and I wished our new friend well and proceeded to shop. I bought a new vest at her encouragement — “It looks good on you” — and she bought some aromatic candles — “cinnamon vanilla.” But all the while we were thinking of this man and the seemingly coincidental nature of our meeting. The Lord had used us to visibly encourage him. I cannot tell you the number of times I have had such encounters simply because I spoke to a stranger: a taxi driver who told me someone had murdered his daughter; a waitress who cried when I told her she was doing a good job; a contractor who, just last week, revealed to me how the Lord had delivered him from meth addiction when I was sharing the Gospel with him; and a young woman who looked unsettled and I simply asked her what troubled her so. There are people all around you who carry secret burdens, and the Lord puts you in their path for a reason. Do you notice them? Or do you press on to “more important” things? Pray that the Lord gives you eyes to see them and the heart to minister to them. It will do you as much good as you do them.

Since many seemed to like my last question on food, here is another - Have you ever eaten any road-kill? ( you hit it or someone else did- doesn't matter )

Weird question of the day - Have you ever eaten anything that was alive an hour earlier? ( plants don't count )

Men aren't sinners because they sin. Men sin because they are sinners. Christians aren't Christian because they pray a prayer, accept an offer, repent, do works, bear fruit, serve Christ as Lord, etc. - Christians do all these things because they are Christian. Soli Deo Gloria

A widely unrecognized benefit of being a single Christian is that you don't need to change your underwear before going out on a date.😅

I agree with the logic here- I'm gonna write in Norman.
Regardless of your preferred candidate, everyone can agree that Warren Norman is 100% correct here. Great read @fitsnews!

"INDEED" - I thought the word meant "for sure" as in - "If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." BUT... what if it actually means "in deed" ? THEN, "you will be free in deed" means sins chains are broken, and we are free to do good (not-sin)...for the first time.🙂

Provisionists @DrFrankTurek likes to say - "Love must be freely given or it's not love." Ridiculous ! ... and a man as smart as Turek should know this. All love is influenced. If love must be totally uninfluenced to be real, nothing anyone has ever experienced counts as love.

i just now decided that my go-to response whenever someone exclaims "Praise God!" is to quickly say "from Whom ALL blessings flow!". It was either that or "Indeed", but I think the previous honors Him more.

If the Bible instructs man to forgive others in actuality regardless of their acknowledgement/ acceptance (it's totally of the giver), why do many insist that God reduced the cross to a potential offer rather than an ACTUAL pardon for those Christ came to save?

This has applications towards evangelicizing...
Jordan Belfort finally explained what “Sell me this pen” really tests, and most salespeople fail it in 1 sentence. The moment they hear the line, they start pitching. The pen is great, it writes upside down, it’s the best value for the money. To Belfort, that’s the clearest sign someone doesn’t understand selling. The right answer doesn’t mention the pen at all, at least not at first. A fan in the audience asks Belfort to sell the pen. He jokes that no one has ever asked him that before, then explains what the test is really for: before you pitch anything, you ask questions. How long have you been in the market for a pen? What have you used before? Is it for business or personal? How much do you usually spend? Pitching without asking, Belfort says, tells the buyer you don’t give a shit about them. You’re just ramming the product down their throat. The questions also tell Belfort who to walk away from. If someone says they’re not looking for a pen, he says “Great, have a nice day” and moves on. To him, the biggest rookie mistake is trying to sell to everybody. Only then does Belfort pitch: “Based on what you said to me, this pen is perfect. Let me tell you why.” And the pen, he says, is just a stand-in for any product. Rookies sell the pen. Pros sell what you just told them. Be honest: would you have pitched the pen, or asked the first question?

A classic that bears reposting - "Some people are so special that from that very first moment you met them... you just knew that you wanted to spend the rest of your life without them.🙂

My favorite line for whiners who shirk responsibility- "What you fail to understand is that your current situation is a reflection of your past decisions."🙂

The prospect of standing before God having slandered His wisdom, love, goodness, and mercy as "force" should terrify. Perhaps worse are those who insist that God must conform to their understanding, or He is a monster. Methinks there will be much weeping and gnashing of teeth.

I didn't even know what a Modalist was until today... I mean, I know there are people who deny the Trinity, but it blows my mind that someone would deny it and view God as talking to Himself while frantically changing hats along the way.🙂

Many scriptures seem prescriptives on how TO BE Christian, when they describe how Christians ARE. The beatitudes for ex. They say "Blessed ARE..." , but many wrongly view them as if they say "Blessed will be..." They don't tell how TO BE Christian. They tell how a Christian IS.

LDS taught that every sect of Christianity EXCEPT THEM would "receive their portion with the devil". Said differently, LDS are the only ones to be saved. The rest of us are lost.
Replying to @AdamDommeyer
“…we shall see all the priests who adhere to the sectarian religions of the day with all their followers, without one exception, receive their portion with the devil and his angels.” - The Elders’ Journal volume 1, number 4 (August 1838) Joseph Smith, editor
