Pure ignorance: no serious Israeli historian or archaeologist believes this & DNA studies completely disprove it. Read the work for eg of Gideon Avni or Yossi Rappoport: languages & religions changed, people remained Recovering the lost history of Gaza share.google/5LwquF4LW6j0TbO…
The Jews are the only extant indigenous people of the land of Israel. The people who colonised it were Romans, Christians, Arabs and Muslims. Zionism is the ultimate decolonisation movement. The genocidal child-murderers are Hamas-led Palestinian Arabs and the Iranian regime. Get something above your own neck other than ignorance and knuckle-dragging bigotry.

Congratulations, you’ve just discovered what apartheid looks like: two populations living in the same territory, one with full rights and protection, while the other is denied both.

On this Israeli election day, I’d recommend reading this extraordinary @haaretzcom interview with billionaire Ronald Lauder, president of the World Jewish Congress and once one of Benjamin Netanyahu’s closest confidants. One of Lauder’s most striking conclusions: “I realized at the end of the day that Israel really didn't want peace, but they wanted dominance.” This is coming from someone who helped launch Netanyahu’s political career, introduced him to powerful figures in American politics and media, and secretly negotiated with Hafez al-Assad and Rafik Hariri on his behalf in the late 1990s. In one of the interview’s biggest revelations, Lauder says Netanyahu agreed to a comprehensive peace deal with Syria and Lebanon, including withdrawal from the Golan Heights, but ultimately refused to sign it for political reasons. “He chose politics over peace. He put his political future before the deal.” Now 82, Lauder describes his profound disillusionment with Israel’s direction. After decades of supporting Israeli and Jewish institutions, he has sold his Tel Aviv apartment, given away his Be’er Sheva property, and says he has no intention of returning to Israel. He warns that Netanyahu’s dependence on figures like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich is damaging Israel, alienating diaspora Jews and eroding support in Washington. The interview is also full of fascinating details about Lauder’s role in Netanyahu’s political rise. The two became close friends in the 1980s, when Netanyahu was Israel’s ambassador to the UN, speaking almost daily at times. Lauder says he introduced Netanyahu to speech coach Lilyan Wilder to improve his public speaking and, crucially, to Republican strategist Arthur Finkelstein, who would become instrumental in Netanyahu’s electoral success. When Netanyahu left New York to pursue a political career in Israel, Lauder threw him a farewell party attended by some of the most influential figures in American media and politics, including Rupert Murdoch and the head of the New York Times. Lauder recalls opening doors for Netanyahu and helping him cultivate the relationships that would underpin his rise to power. What makes this interview so revealing is that Lauder is no longtime critic of Israel. He had been a committed Zionist, a Republican power broker, and a man who spent decades financing Jewish institutions, cultivating relationships with Arab leaders, and pursuing diplomatic openings on Israel’s behalf. A fascinating read 👇 haaretz.com/israel-news/elec…

B’Tselem urgently calls on governments and international institutions to act now, using all means available under international law, to prevent the forcible displacement of Palestinian civilians, collective punishment and extensive unlawful destruction in Hebron. Israeli leaders are openly declaring their intentions, and actions on the ground have already begun. Following the shooting near Hebron on 23 October, in which two Israeli soldiers were killed, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz openly announced plans to forcibly displace Palestinian residents and carry out extensive destruction in the area. In a statement, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared: “We will apply in the cities the successful offensive model we implemented in the refugee camps.” That same model has already displaced more than 33,000 Palestinians in the northern West Bank. Now, Israeli leaders are threatening to bring the same mass displacement and destruction to Hebron. Implementation has already begun. Israeli forces imposed a cordon on Hebron and Halhul, while the Civil Administration began demolishing Palestinian structures in the neighborhood of Farsh al-Hawa. At the same time, Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced the establishment of four new settlement farming outposts in the South Hebron Hills. Israeli leaders are openly announcing plans for collective punishment and acts that could constitute war crimes. These plans echo Israel’s devastating operations as part of the genocide in Gaza and mark a further escalation of its ongoing campaign of ethnic cleansing as part of the Elimination Project in the West Bank: the systematic dismantling of Palestinian collective life while expanding settlements and entrenching permanent Israeli control. The world cannot stand by as Israel continues its assault on Palestinians, waiting for yet more neighborhoods to be emptied and erased before intervening, despite what we have already witnessed in Gaza and the northern West Bank. Governments and international bodies must act now to prevent these crimes and protect Palestinian civilians.

Read this. And if you have school-aged children, act on it.
🚨 PLEASE SHARE! I've written to both my children's schools following the Government's antisemitism review. I WILL NOT accept genocide being presented as a two-sided political debate, or Palestinian history and suffering being erased from their education. I've drafted a template which I'm sharing for other parents to use or adapt. Political impartiality must NEVER become historical dishonesty. Please use them. Challenge your schools. If it makes you feel better to frame it that way Jake but it is in fact a picture I took of poppies blooming on top of a massacre site at the erased Palestinian village of Burayr about ten miles east of the Gaza Strip fence. You can find it on pre 1948 maps if you want to check and you can find Burayr survivors/descendants in Jabaliya refugee camp, tho it will be hard as that too is now erased.
I believe this is known as “doubling down”

Would you accept your own mother being attacked like this? Palestinian residents of Al-Mughayyir are being subjected to nationalist terror by the "Yarad" group; using brute force—and enjoying immunity granted by the authorities and the military—they steal livestock and more.

Much punchier accusations from Sir Malcolm Rifkind - a former defence and foreign secretary: "I choose my words very carefully. I think this week Donald Trump has shown himself as a person to be repulsive; as a President of the United States to be a disgrace to his own people as well as to his international responsibilities. "We all know his actual reasons for this are a grubby attempt to win a few more votes in the midterms by trying to get oil prices down. "In order to achieve that, he has not only betrayed Ukraine in the middle of a war, fighting for its very existence, but he is also directly - not indirectly - directly responsible for the deaths of many Ukrainians who will not now be protected by the attempts that have been successfully made using intelligence provided indirectly by the United States." xitter.cf/breeallegretti/status/…

Dear Israel supporters who talk so much about Jewish Safety and call Palestinians terrorists: A Jewish American woman was attacked by Jewish Israeli settler-terrorists. Her life was saved by Palestinians. Hope this helps.
I wrote a full, detailed account of the October 16 settler and soldier attack on the olive harvest in Abu Falah. I think it may be the most important thing I’ve ever written. “The Palestinians Who Rescued Heidi Levine” Link in next tweet.

Hart, I was a Zionist for nearly all my life. I actually went to live in Israel and was there for some years. So, you don't need to instruct me about that. Seeing the reality that, in order to exist, Israel requires the oppression, dispossession and expulsion of Palestinians took me decades. Now that I see it, I can't unsee it.

You could not understand his answer because you don't know what the word Zionist means. Unless or until you have a common understanding of what it means to be a Zionist, you can ne Er understand the why.

Yay. Now we get to listen to Israelis lamenting that they didn’t know how bad things were in the West Bank all this time. Because listening to/believing Palestinians - who for decades have systematically documented/reported what is happening - was never an option.
“Everything we thought we knew about the deeds of violent settlers pales in comparison to the reality on the ground.” In a guest essay Nimrod Novik describes the shock he felt on a tour of the West Bank economist.com/by-invitation/…

I long ago came to terms with the fact that Donald Trump’s worldview is entirely transactional and amoral. What still beggars belief is the failure of America’s institutional checks and balances to prevent him from committing serial acts of national self-harm. Deeply depressing
BREAKING: Volodymyr Zelenskyy tells @piersmorgan he has been betrayed by Trump, that Elon Musk and the US deliberately cut off Starlink and people are being killed as a result “This is not the right side of history,” he says. “It is a pity that we are losing a strong partner” On Musk and Starlink he says: “This decision will bring a lot of human losses. Of course, people will die” “I am sure they knew what they did, absolutely. Because it was 1am at night, Starlink was blocked by SpaceX and the United States” “It’s not just about attack. It’s also about defending life. So people were killed because, not enough destroying, not enough interceptors, including interceptors with Starlink, which didn't work. Of course.” Asked if he’s angry with Musk, Zelenskyy says: “Yes, I think he is not right. It's a big mistake.”

If you haven’t yet seen this, it’s worth taking a look at this detailed examination of the UK Govt’s response to Israel’s bombardment of Gaza. One key revelation is when aid workers including British nationals were killed in an Israeli strike on a World Central Kitchen convoy. Two days later, the then UK Foreign Sec David Cameron signed off on the latest arms export approval to Israel. That same day he announced an urgent and “transparent” investigation into the attack. channel4.com/programmes/brit…

News: I'm told there was a very combative meeting of the CBS News London bureau today held by foreign editor Shayndi Raice. Raice, I am told, "lectured" staffers about hierarchy, obedience and management’s right to dictate editorial decisions, explicitly warning that ignoring instructions could constitute insubordination and grounds for dismissal. I am told that CBS News senior foreign correspondent Holly Williams pushed back on Raice regarding an incident mentioned in last night's edition of Status -- about an Evening News report on the anniversary of the Oct. 7 Hamas attack that omitted the death toll from the war in Gaza .... and Raice defended the decision.
Lesley Stahl’s 60 Minutes report on extremist Israeli settlers underwent a contentious screening process at the Bari Weiss-led CBS News, leading the veteran correspondent to privately express the possibility of quitting the show Scoop from @oliverdarcy status.news/p/bari-weiss-les…

Dr. Peter Prinsley is a Deputy on the Board of Deputies of British Jews and was appointed the Honorourary Vice-Chair of Labour Friends of Israel in December last year. In September 2025 he was found to be in breach of Parliamentary rules for failing to declare an all-expenses paid "solidarity trip" to Israel in May 2025 funded by Labour Friends of Israel. Along with other Labour MPs, Prinsley met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, who was cited in the ICJ's 2024 judgement for making plausibly genocidal statements, and widely pictured signing bombs destined to be dropped on Gaza. When Prinsley was asked what he thought voters might say about him visiting Israel by DeClassified, he said: "I really don't know that they'd be interested in it, to be quite honest." When he was asked why he went, Prinsley said: "I was asked to go. I just do what I'm told." Prinsley was again found in breach of Parliamentary rules in June this year. Prinsley "inadvertent[ly]" failed to properly declare his interests (the LFI trip) during a Home Affairs Select Committee Inquiry into the police's decision to block Tel Aviv Maccabi fans travelling to the UK. He later admitted he may have failed to declare the trip because he was "attempting to avoid allegation of bias." LFI does not declare its funding. LFI has previously said that there is "no place" for antizionism in the "labour movement." Approximately 12% of all British Jews are anti-Zionist according to the Institute for Jewish Policy Research, with less than half of all British Jews between 20-29 declaring themselves Zionist. Now, a test: if Prinsley's objections in Parliament about the Zionism-is-Racism motion is covered by the press today, or shared by journalists and commentators on here, will any of this context be given?
As a British Jew, I am deeply concerned by the Green Party's vote to declare Zionism racism. Whatever our political differences, Jewish people must never face prejudice or discrimination. Yesterday, I raised these concerns in Parliament and asked how Jewish communities can be reassured. I welcome the Home Secretary's clear response: every council, regardless of political control, must uphold equality law and protect its residents from discrimination.

🇮🇱🇵🇸 At some point, we have to stop pretending that everything happening in Gaza is exclusively about defeating Hamas. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich is now saying openly: “I want all of Gaza. I want Gaza to be ours.” And he explains why: “I want it for Zionist reasons.” There's no ambiguity here at all. We should be paying attention to what these officials are actually telling us. Writer: Oliver
