I'm honoured and excited to be an invited reader for CBC's 2027 Short Story Prize. The contest is open until Nov. 1, so there's still plenty of time to submit!

(I loved assembling this anthology. from the Ryder cover inward, sheer pleasure. especially including stories not usually associated with "gothic" by writers like Raymond Carver & Nicholson Baker.)
Replying to @JoyceCarolOates
I had this book in my hands (I'm in Buenos Aires!) when I caught Joyce's commentary. Happy coincidence!
I think we have to make children read. Or listen to us reading to them. I read Borges to my 11yo last night and he loved it. It sparkles curiosity, we argue, reflect, etc
