ALT Trigger warning: miscarriage For the past four days I’ve been bleeding, because my body is giving birth to a baby I’ll never get to hold. I always wanted to be a mother so I was ecstatic (and terrified) to find out we were expecting a baby. We picked out names, researched strollers, and told our closest friends and family. We were thrilled. But as I sit here, writing this post at ten weeks pregnant, I am having a miscarriage. After two hospital visits and a very painful blood draw, the doctors simply said “this is very common and there’s nothing we can do.” And while they’re right, that doesn’t make it any less painful. I have never been in this much physical pain in my entire life. It’s been several days of extensive bleeding and the only thing that helps is crying/screaming. Pain medication doesn’t help. I’ve almost passed out from the immense pain. I am not okay. I won’t be okay for a while. But I’ll get there, slowly.
