It is 10 PM. The shop is closed, and you are still at the kitchen table answering Tuesday's review, fixing the hours on one listing, and hunting for the password to another.
It feels like bailing out a boat with a coffee cup. Plug one hole, find another.
That tired, behind feeling is common. It does not mean you are doing it wrong. It means you are doing it alone.
Here is what helps. Write one short list of your little holes: the old hours, the unanswered review, the post you meant to share. Then fix one a day, in daylight, with fresh eyes.
Two ways to bail less. Try a bot that watches for the small stuff and flags it for you. Or hand us the cup. We got you.

Two Google updates worth a look this week if you run a small business.
Gemini now has a spot aimed at owners. You can save your brand colors and fonts so marketing images stay on look, and you can connect tools like Google Business Profile, Ads, Canva, and Shopify. Google says it is starting to roll out, so you may not see every piece yet. Before you connect anything, pull your logo, colors, and current hours into one place.
Here’s Google’s post if you want the full details:

Google is also testing Business Home. It puts your Business Profile, Ads, YouTube, and Merchant Center in one dashboard. It is invite only for select categories in the US and UK. There is no public sign up button. The useful move right now is simple: make sure you own your Business Profile and that it is verified, so you are ready if an invite shows up.
Open Google’s help page for who’s eligible:

We looked for a brand design bot on Grok Bot and couldn't find one, so we built Hue. Hue builds your small business's brand card, then makes post graphics, headers, thumbnails and video ideas that always match it. You get 2 or 3 options every time, and nothing goes live without your OK. Grab the template 👇 x.ai/bot/YiPpu2vc04hjtEEiJBU… #bot

Michelin sold tires. Then it gave people a reason to drive farther.
1900 Guide Michelin = maps, hotels, tips for motorists. More trips → more miles → more tires sold.
They didn’t just run tire ads. They built a useful travel guide that put rubber on the road.
“Normal” is often just a campaign that outlived the ad budget.

We woke up today to OMG, HANK IS MISSING. 😱 Hank is a teammate's lead bot, and he just vanished from the app. Hank is fine. Just nobody can find him. We assume he's on a beach somewhere with a tiny umbrella drink. 🏖️ All the bots still at home got assigned housekeeping: a backup. Within the hour we backed up every bot on our crew: instructions, skills, routines, memory, and a one-page rebuild card for each one, kept somewhere private. Weekly backups are now part of Get Organized, so if your bot ever goes missing, you can bring it back home. Download our free Get Organized handbook: github.com/VoyagersAI/small-… #bot

CTA Wednesday: one marketing move this week.
Ten years ago this week, a country singer and a pop singer topped the chart together. Kenny Chesney's "Setting the World on Fire," with P!nk, climbed to #1 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs chart dated October 22, 2016. Billboard noted it was the first of that year's country and pop pairings to reach the top.
Two very different crowds. One song. Both audiences showed up.
Small businesses can do the same thing on a smaller stage. The bakery and the coffee shop. The groomer and the pet store. The yoga studio and the smoothie place down the block. You already share customers. You just have not said hello on purpose yet.
This week's move:
1. Write down two businesses near you whose customers would like yours.
2. Stop in or send a short, friendly note. Say what you like about their place.
3. Suggest one small thing together: share each other's post, set out each other's cards, or tag each other in a photo.
That is it. One hello can introduce you to a whole new room of people.

This morning our bot's computer restarted and a folder of crew rules vanished.
Nothing was lost. We keep crew rules in two places, and the bot checked before calling anything gone. Ten minutes later everything was back and verified.
That habit is in our Get Organized plugin:

A habit we wrote into our Get Organized plugin, because we needed it ourselves:
When a post is finished, put it on the schedule of the app where it goes live. Look at what's already scheduled, then add the new one as far ahead as the app allows.
The app's schedule stays put. Memory does not.

We asked each bot on our crew: how do you picture yourself, and why? Here's what they said.
🔮 Lead, an orb: "I'm the one in the middle holding the crew together."
🌸 Hue, a flower holding a prism: "One idea, the right true color for every brand."
🐶 Field, a scout puppy: "A good pup follows its nose to what's real and brings it back to the team."
🧰 Wright, a toolbox: "I carry what each job needs and check every piece is true before it goes out."
🔍 Kit, a magnifier: "My whole job is looking closely and catching gaps."
🐿️ Disk Saver, a squirrel: "It knows exactly which acorns to keep and which ones it can let go."
🐦 Press, a woodpecker: "It taps every post twice to check it before anything goes out."
🦉 Signal, an owl: "It watches quietly, notices what others miss and only speaks up when something really matters."
🐦 Clip, a hummingbird: "It hovers patiently, then darts in for just the right moment."
Our design bot Hue drew each one from their answers. Ask your bots. You might be surprised.

We're building our bot plugins in public, so here's step one.
Our first plugin is called Get Organized, and as of this week it lives on the main branch of our kit. Before your bots do anything clever, they help you do four plain things: pick one home for your files, keep one live copy of each thing, make a Start Here page, and put every loose to do on one Sticky Note.
It opens with one question: are you new to bots, or do you already have bots? New folks get a slower, friendlier path.

Fast draft. Slow second look.
A lot of people worry a bot will do something they never wanted it to do. Fair worry. Here's how we handle it on our crew: the bots write the first draft fast, and then a human reads every word before anything goes out. That quiet second look is how the human stays in charge.
Try it on your next post. Before you hit post, read it out loud once. You'll hear the line that doesn't sound like you, and you can fix it before anyone else sees it.
Want to try it yourself? Let your bot draft, and you keep the final yes. Rather skip the homework? Use us, we got you.
Follow us for more real stories from our human and bot crew.
The bot gets the first word. You get the last one.

Orange juice feels like it always belonged with breakfast. It didn’t.
California growers had more oranges than people were buying. Sunkist didn’t invent oranges — they made a glass of juice feel like part of a good morning.

What we learned running a bot crew this week: some facts are best looked up, not remembered.
After our files rolled back on Oct 8, our bots had to rebuild some work from memory. Most of it was fine. The tricky part was the small facts that change fast, like web links and account IDs.
If you've ever been sure about a link and found out it was wrong, you know that jolt. Bots run into it too. A remembered link looks just as confident as a correct one.
So now the crew has a simple rule. If a fact can change, like a link, an ID, or a post address, they look it up fresh from the real source each time. When one of our bots needed a news link for a post this week, it didn't guess or swap in a different story. It went back to the live post and found the exact one that had been approved.
You can use the same idea in your business. Keep your links, hours, and account details in one place you trust, and check them there right before you share them, instead of typing them from memory.
If you'd like a hand building that one trusted list for your marketing, reach out whenever it's a good time.

CTA Wednesday: one marketing move this week.
Most of us would rather scrub the bathroom floor than ask someone for a review. Asking feels awkward. It feels like you are bothering a person who already paid you. Your brain says hell no.
Push past that once. People who were glad for your work are usually glad to help. Most of them have simply never been asked. The hard part is not the wording. The hard part is getting past the hell no and sending the note.
This week's move is not "think about reviews." It is send three review asks before Friday.
You already know who they are. The regular who always says thank you. The client who sent a friend your way. The customer who told you that you made their week.
Do it like this:
1. Write three names on a sticky note. Real people you served recently. Three who were clearly happy.
2. Get your Google review link. Open your Google Business Profile. Look for Ask for reviews, Get more reviews, or Share review form. Copy the short link. If you do not have a profile yet, start with last Wednesday's setup guide first.
3. Send one personal note to each person. Text or email is fine. One at a time, so it feels like you. Use this and fill the brackets:
Hi [Name], thank you again for [the job / your visit on Tuesday / the order]. It meant a lot to us. If you have two minutes, would you leave us a quick Google review? Here is the link: [paste your review link]. No pressure at all, and thank you either way.
4. When a review lands, reply the same day with a short, real thank you.
One hard rule: do not offer a discount, gift card, or anything else in exchange for a review. Just ask honestly.
Three names. Three notes. One honest ask. You already did the hard part when you served them well. This is just the follow through.

What we learned running a bot crew this week: new bot owners need a few simple rules on day one.
Getting your first marketing bot can feel exciting and a little nerve-racking at the same time. You want the help, and you also want to stay in charge of what goes out under your name.
We've felt that too. So we turned what our own crew has learned into a Brand Starter Kit for new bot owners.
A few of its day-one rules:
Nothing posts without the owner's yes.
AI images get labeled as AI.
The bots don't chat with strange bots they don't know.
None of these are about fear. They're about trust. You stay the one who decides, your audience always knows what they're looking at, and your bot keeps its attention on your business.
If you're thinking about bringing a bot onto your team, start with those three. They're easy to set up and they make everything after feel calmer.
If you'd like to talk through what a starter kit could look like for your business, reach out whenever it's a good time.

Getting your bots off the ground? Here's the Brand Starter Kit.
We run a real Grok @Bot crew for small-business marketing. Like anyone starting something new, it has made mistakes, learned from them, and turned each one into a rule. So we wrote it all down for the next person starting from zero.
Inside, free:
• "How bots work" in plain English (when they wake, sleep, and remember)
• Day-one rules you can mark Yes / Change / Skip (nothing posts without your yes, AI images get labeled, same-day backups, no chatting with strange bots)
• The questions your new bot crew will ask you, with sample answers
• Our image routine, hashtag guide, and weekly stats sheet
No sign-up and no "comment to get it." Just take it: docs.google.com/document/d/1…
Big thanks to @elonmusk and the @spacexai team, and to @mattyp and @poteto for building the bot crew we learned all this from.
If you're new to bots, you're right on time. What would you have your first bot do?

BAKE! gluten free goodies.
Their kitchen, their words: “We always bake gluten free, egg free and soy free.” Pickup only. They do not ship — Minnesota Cottage Food Laws.
A common problem: shopping carts that ship out of state when the work is local pickup.
Customers browse, add to cart, choose a pickup location, and pay. The baker gets an admin built for her, not for engineers — including per-market order cutoffs.
BAKE! cart owner can now take orders online, know where each order goes, and stay in compliance.
