For anyone who heard me on Saturday sports show this was my exact comment about Rowe; he’s a Kane, McClure clickbait wanna be - he just doesn’t have the platform reach the others do.

Loving Roughie here. He’s contracted.
Nick Murray in limbo with 3 days to run. Crows holding firm on the defender who has 2 yrs left on a contract worth around $750k a year. North's Zane Duursma pick + a F1 could break it, but the Crows want something pointy in this year's draft. Meanwhile, the Roos have not presented Sydney with another offer for Nick Blakey since 6 and later pick swaps were put forward.

ADELAIDE REMAINS QUIET WHILE RIVALS STRENGTHEN THEIR LISTS While several of the AFL’s leading clubs have been aggressive during the 2026 Trade Period, Adelaide has taken a noticeably different approach. Geelong has added Toby Greene, Jordan Ridley and Rowan Marshall, while the Western Bulldogs have secured Zak Butters on a massive nine-year deal. Hawthorn has strengthened with Zach Merrett and Ben King, while Collingwood has brought in Lachie Neale and Jesse Hogan. Meanwhile, Adelaide has made no major trade acquisitions, despite reaching the finals in 2026 and looking to take another step towards premiership contention. Is the club backing internal improvement rather than bringing in established talent? Former Adelaide captain Mark Bickley believes that could be the thinking behind the Crows’ approach. “He (Matthew Nicks) is in the last year of his contract, going into his 8th year.” Bickley also pointed to Fremantle’s approach, noting that the Dockers made minimal additions but benefited from the development of their existing players. “They only added Mason Cox, but they got internal growth out of their list. That might be what Adelaide are thinking they can do next year.” There is certainly an argument for backing the development of Adelaide’s young core, with players such as Dan Curtin, Sid Draper, Josh Rachele still capable of taking significant steps forward. But with Matthew Nicks entering another important season, the decision to rely predominantly on internal growth will come under scrutiny. While rivals are actively strengthening their premiership credentials, are the Crows doing enough to close the gap? Or could continuity and natural improvement prove more valuable than another big-name recruit? Crows supporters, are you comfortable with Adelaide’s approach? #AFL #AFLTrades #AdelaideCrows #MatthewNicks #TradePeriod

It looks to be another trade period without landing a big fish for the Crows - but it wasn't for a lack of trying. Who's their next target and where can the growth come from within? ANALYSIS 👉 bit.ly/4yaojOU

Cornes met directly with Crows chairman Rob Chapman and coach Brenton Sanderson at home, offering to play for a low salary since Port Adelaide was still paying out the remainder of his contract. Adelaide list manager David Noble turned down the request.
What would we do without the rookie list giving all these youngsters a shot.

I like what he’s doing. He’s getting media murdered but none of this will matter if he can deliver a flag.
ADELAIDE EXPLORING OPTIONS TO MOVE UP THE AFL DRAFT ORDER Adelaide’s new list manager Jarryd Roughead has confirmed the Crows are actively exploring potential deals to improve their position in the 2026 AFL National Draft. “We are trying to come up with different scenarios where we think it could benefit us and other teams. We will try but it doesn’t mean we will get things done.” — Jarryd Roughead The comments suggest Adelaide is prepared to be proactive rather than simply take its existing selections into draft night. Moving higher up the order could provide the Crows with access to a more highly rated young prospect, although any potential deal would depend on finding another club willing to exchange selections at an acceptable price. With several clubs holding multiple early picks and future selections, there could be opportunities for creative pick swaps before the draft. The question now is how aggressive Adelaide is prepared to be, and what it would be willing to give up to secure an earlier selection. Would you like to see Adelaide trade up the draft order, or hold onto its current selections? #AFL #AFLTrades #AdelaideCrows #AFLDraft

“Is it possible that Adelaide are doing nothing because they’re setting the coach up to fail because they don’t believe that this is the coach to take them forward long term?” Channel 7's @KaneCornes has asked. Live AFL trade updates: tinyurl.com/59xvaa2z

Sigh, just too easy to pile on.
Has anyone told Adelaide the trade period is on? 🤔 Matthew Nicks desperately needs the Crows to improve in 2027, but it's clear there was "no plan B" after missing Zac Bailey, as the #TradingDay team dissect what's going on.

CROWS DAILY RECAP Not much movement for Adelaide today. Nick Murray remains a Crow, while Luke Pedlar’s move to Port is still to be worked through. The Crows continue to sit back with plenty of draft capital. Meanwhile, the rest of the league is making moves. 👀 Day 4 done.

Tom Morris on Nick Murray: "It's not completely off but the Crows and North are a long way apart." Mitch Cleary on Josh Goater: "I think it might be held up behind a couple of these other deals." CROWS DAILY RECAP Nick Murray remains the big trade story. North Melbourne says its position is still on the table, but nothing has progressed. Meanwhile, SEN is asking the question: are the Crows being too passive this trade period?

Trade period is officially underway and things are getting a little spicy. We’re talking trades, rumours, list moves, who could be coming in, who could be heading out and what it all means for the Crows heading into 2027.
