In 1999 you had to earn over 4x the minimum wage to be considered a higher earner on the 40% rate.
Today just 1.8x the minimum wage considered high earner!
If the same minimum-wage-to-high-earner ratio was applied from 1999 you’d have to earn over £115k before hitting the 40% income tax rate.
We’re seeing a level of wage compression that would make a Soviet era socialist blush.

Just raise the personal allowance
Stop putting additional cost on businesses resulting in price rises and closures.
Honestly, this is ridiculous now.
It’s going to push so many small businesses passed the brink.
Minimum wage won’t matter to anyone, if there’s no companies to create the jobs .

Hold on, Shabana, you're telling the British public that violence is at its lowest level since 1981 but there's something you're conveniently leaving out.
The headline violence figures you're quoting don't include murder, rape, sexual assault, stalking or harassment in that same measure.
So when you tell everyone that violence is at historic lows, you're not talking about violence as a whole, you're talking about a specific category of crime.
And how many people reading your post would know that?
If you're going to reassure the British public about crime, tell them exactly what's being counted, what's being left out and what's happening in those other categories.
Because there's a big fucking difference between crime statistics improving and the public being told everything is fine.

Put up tax rates too much, and the amount collected goes down
Leftists don’t understand this and think you can just keep putting taxes up and keep getting more money
You can’t. People leave. Don’t invest, Don’t bother working or work less
Labour doesn’t realise this

Every single sentence in your post is untrue.
Labour’s 2002 ‘deal’ had very little long-term impact on migrants trying to sneak into the UK by lorry/container/vehicles. It simply moved from Sangette to other routes.
Between 2014-2019 55,000 came in that way — an underestimate since many came in undetected and disappeared into society. Unlike boat people, nearly all of whom are counted.
So it’s an obvious nonsense to say people weren’t being sent back because nobody was arriving. Tens of thousands were arriving.
They switched to small boats when major advances in technology, perimeter defence of lorry/container parks and detection made lorries etc too risky to take.
That’s why, from 2018 onwards, the small boat numbers grew fast.
Nothing to do with EU, Brexit, Dublin rules, fairy dust etc. Why do you peddle such falsehoods?

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: ANGELA RAYNER CAUGHT USING 15 MILLION POUNDS OF PUBLIC CASH TO RIG ELECTIONS!!!!
I want every working person in this country to confront the terrifying reality that the state is weaponizing your own wages against your ballot paper.
Under the guise of a 15 million pound recovery fund created after the Southport tragedy, Angela Rayner quietly financed a partisan propaganda machine inside local government.
Official evidence confirms public funds went straight to the Ella Baker School of Organising, an activist network founded by former operatives from Hope Not Hate.
Council staff across Birmingham, Sheffield, and Blackpool were forced through state funded sessions instructing them how to steer working class communities away from Nigel Farage.
Local bureaucrats were literally trained on how to distract ordinary residents from small boat arrivals and manipulate the public away from voting for Reform UK.
Course registration materials openly declared their core objective was to avert the impending disaster of a democratic right wing government.
The political establishment claims there is zero cash to protect military veterans or keep elderly pensioners warm, yet Angela Rayner finds unlimited funds to turn council offices into political re education camps.
Labour knows they have permanently lost the trust of ordinary Britons, so they are deploying taxpayer funded psychological operations to rig the ballot box from the inside.
Retweet this exclusive investigation immediately to expose Angela Rayner using public money to wage war on British voters. 🇬🇧

There’s a lot of self-serving spin emanating from the UK government about how virtuous it is re fiscal consolidation.
Here are the facts.
Labour inherited an OBR budget deficit forecast of £87bn (3.1% GDP) for FY2024/25. After R Reeves’ 1st disastrous budget the actual deficit was £153bn (5.2%). Massive jump.
Labour inherited OBR budget deficit of £77bn (2.7%) for FY2025/26. After RR’s disastrous 2nd budget that turned out to be £133bn (4.3%).
So in its first two years it added over £120bn to borrowing/deficit (despite huge increase in taxes).
The OBR forecast it inherited for this FY2026/27 was £69bn (2.3%). It is now forecast to be £116bn (3.3%). That looks like an underestimate. More likely to be closer to £130bn again.
Inherited budget forecast for 2027/28: £51bn (1.6%). Latest forecast: £97bn (2.9%).
Inherited budget forecast for 2028/29: £39bn (1.2%). Latest forecast: £86bn (2.5%).
Far from fiscal consolidation Labour is forecast to borrow an incredible £260bn more over the 5 years from 2024/25 than the forecasts it inherited. Despite the tax rises.
Which will continue. Alone among G7 countries the IMF projects the UK tax burden to rise by 3.7% of GDP 2025-31. The only other country with a rising tax burden is France (0.8%). Italy is static. Rest of G7 have falling tax burden.
And let’s not forget Labour’s so-called ‘fiscal consolidation’ is all backloaded to end-decade. Unlikely to happen. So taxes will have to rise by even more.

How fucking dumb are you trying to peddle this “exclusionary racism” crap like anything with a couple more syllables makes you intellectually valid. It doesn’t. It makes you sound like the condescending ponce you actually are.
Braverman refused the label for herself because her ancestry is Indian via Mauritius and Kenya, not English. That’s not a whites-only club; it’s the same ethnic distinction every other people on earth uses.
English is an ethnicity. British is the citizenship. You can be born here, play for England, sound English and still not be ethnically English, just as a white guy born in Tokyo isn’t ethnically Japanese. The existence of “ethnic minorities in England” already proves the majority ethnicity exists. Pretending otherwise so you can scream racism is just a cheap way to shut the conversation down.
She’s not excluding anyone from the country or the passport. She’s saying ancestry still means something. Calling that racist while demanding every other group keep their ethnic identity is the actual exclusionary crap.
You fucking hypocrite.

The central underpinning of progressivism is that disagreement with progressivism is a sign of moral failure.
Therefore, a white progressive man is perfectly comfortable calling a brown woman "racist" in public for disagreeing with him with no sense of irony.

Andy Burnham is attempting to emulate George Orwell. 1984 meets 2026 with the establishment of the ‘National Centre for Information Defence’ — aka the ‘Ministry of Truth’.
Burnham has painted this new quango as a much-needed tool to combat the flood of disinformation allegedly being spread online by Russia to sow social divisions, influence elections and push people towards the extreme political right.
But politicians have been saying this for years while demanding ever-greater censorship powers.
FSU Policy and Research Director @DavidRoseUK has delved deep into the academic evidence — and found it sorely lacking.
The reach and threat of disinformation have been wildly exaggerated for years, with the ultimate aim of imposing greater censorship and restricting dissent.
The Government is indeed spreading misinformation about misinformation.
Read David Rose’s new FSU briefing below 👇
A government-run “counter-disinformation centre” should make everyone ask some very uncomfortable questions.
@EmilyThornberry Who decides what counts as “disinformation”? Who independently scrutinises those decisions? And what prevents a body created to tackle hostile-state interference from drifting into monitoring perfectly lawful domestic criticism?
The Government itself says foreign-interference powers are supposed to target activity linked to foreign powers, while protecting legitimate speech & journalism.
Tackling Russian state operations is one thing. Politicians becoming arbiters of truth is quite another!
And once again, rather fittingly, the people celebrating it seem remarkably reluctant to allow replies. 🙄
What utter spin 🙄 Schools were already communities built around inclusion long before City Hall produced a charter telling teachers how to do their jobs!
In fact, the Mayor’s own figures showed suspensions in London had risen 14% & persistent absenteeism 106% since 2018/19 when this charter was launched.
Inclusion matters enormously, but simply driving suspension figures down is not automatically proof that behaviour, safety or learning have improved. Sometimes suspension is necessary to protect other pupils & staff - something the Charter itself explicitly acknowledges.
Teachers have been doing inclusion every day for years. Perhaps stop treating lower exclusion numbers as the sole measure of success & ask whether classrooms are actually safer, calmer & better places to learn!
