Free speech in Europe is disappearing.
A controversial European Union proposal dubbed “Chat Control” is gaining momentum, with 19 out of 27 EU member states reportedly backing the measure.
The plan would mandate that messaging platforms, including WhatsApp, Signal and Telegram, must scan every message, photo and video sent by users starting in October, even if end-to-end encryption is in place.
Denmark reintroduced the proposal on July 1, the first day of its EU Council presidency. France, once opposed, is now in favor.
Belgium, Hungary, Sweden, Italy and Spain are also in favor, while Germany remains undecided. However, if Berlin joins the majority, a qualified council vote could push the plan through by mid-October.
A qualified majority in the EU Council is achieved when two conditions are met. First, at least 55 percent of member states, meaning 15 out of 27, must vote in favor. Second, those countries must represent at least 65% of the EU’s total population.

Under Milei’s leadership, Argentina turned a $7.94B trade deficit in 2023 into a record-smashing $18-19B surplus in 2024, surpassing the previous high of $16.89B in 2009.
His push to boost energy exports from the Vaca Muerta shale reserves and ramp up grain sales is paying off, making Argentina a global exporting powerhouse again.
With inflation already down from nearly 300% to 117.8%, Milei’s economic reforms are proving their worth.

🚨2024: THE US DOLLAR IS KING (AND EVERYONE ELSE IS STRUGGLING)
The US Dollar is flexing its muscles this year, climbing 7.1% on the Dollar Index (DXY).
Meanwhile, other currencies are tumbling, making everything from vacations abroad to imported goods more expensive for non-Americans.
It’s Uncle Sam’s world, and everyone else is just trying to get by.
Here’s the scoreboard:
• 🇬🇧 British Pound: Down 1.7%—tea’s about to cost more in USD.
• 🇲🇽 Mexican Peso: Down 2.0%—maybe skip those Cancun plans.
• 🇪🇺 Euro: Down 6.2%—looks like that Italian vacation just got pricier.
• 🇯🇵 Japanese Yen: Down 10.3%—even sushi’s feeling the heat.
• 🇧🇷 Brazilian Real: Down a brutal 21.6%—someone check on Brazil, they’re not okay.
Emerging markets are getting hit hardest, with the Russian Ruble (-18.6%) and Brazilian Real leading the losers.
Even normally strong players like the Swiss Franc (-7.3%) and Canadian Dollar (-7.9%) couldn’t hold their ground.
Bottom line? The US Dollar is ruling the global economy like a boss, and everyone else is scrambling to keep up. For Americans, it’s a great time to travel.
For everyone else? Maybe hold off on those imports for now.
