The US Treasury argue that an increase in the crypto market threatens US national security. There is a need for greater oversight and enforcement against money-laundering.
DeFi platforms enable crypto investors to transact with each other.
Brian Nelson, Treasury’s undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence said:
“Illicit actors, including criminals, scammers, and North Korean cyber actors are using DeFi services in the process of laundering illicit funds.”
Is this further proof the Restrict Act is being used to ban or control crypto?
