I used to be one of the biggest @Pumpfun and @a1lon9 haters last cycle, I also backed it up by bullposting my hate and also in comments
I always felt their revenue model was extractive. They had the activity, the users and the revenue, but weren’t meeting the same standards that made me fall in love with $HYPE.
What made Hyperliquid special to me was simple: buybacks, value accrual, user alignment and relentless product development.
But I’ve been watching Pump.fun lately, and something has changed.
They’re starting to look a lot more like everything I loved about HYPE.
Buybacks: Over $500M in $PUMP bought back and burned, with 50% of protocol revenue now committed to it.
Rewards: Callout Rewards and new incentives that actually reward participation.
User feedback: Constant adjustments to creator fees, incentives and the trading experience.
Product: Building out the app, expanding trading features and competing aggressively for users.
For comparison, Hyperliquid built its reputation by routing roughly 97% of eligible fees into HYPE buybacks. Pumpfun is now building its own version of that value-accrual model.
And they’re clearly hungry to compete.
Maybe an airdrop is somewhere down the line too. Who knows.
I never thought I’d say this, but I’ve gone from being a Pumpfun hater to a $PUMP maxi.
$HYPE was my conviction play last cycle.
$PUMP is shaping up to be that play this cycle.

I genuinely think the $BATON Army has a real shot at winning the @Pumpfun Squad Competition, or at least making the top 3.
Here’s why:
1. $BATON recently bottomed out, and a massive reversal towards new ATHs is definitely on the table
2. I can see $PUMP having some very sexy price action in the coming days, which could give $BATON an additional boost
3. @Pumpfun, you honestly have a lot to gain from seeing a genuinely organic squad, supporting one of the most active and dedicated communities on your platform, win this competition. That would be some great PR, and let’s be real, you could use some right now. Especially compared to squads of microcap farmers making most of their money flipping coins that barely reach $100K mcap.
4. It would be extremely beneficial for my bags.
Obviously I’m biased as hell, but I genuinely believe there’s a real chance this happens.
And if it does, it would be absolutely legendary

Yet somehow, the timing is being used to glorify the left while calling for doomsday on the right.
Let’s not forget that we largely had a Solana supercycle because of the activity happening on the right last cycle.
The timeline is still massively underestimating the possibility of $PUMP having a supercycle of its own.
The same activity that helped drive Solana’s last cycle could be laying the foundation for the next one.
