→ are my skills valuable enough to matter
→ am I utilizing my skills properly
Race to making your first $ shouldn't give you a tunnel vision.
Skill comes first, then the $$.

Your long form is ugly.
...and it's OK.
I've seen people succeed with pretty long forms.
You know the ones right?
They have attached graphics that took 2 additional hours to make.
They look wonderful, sure.
They're extremely eye-catching.
Then you have the non-pretty long forms that aren't the same eye pleasers.
All they have is a lot of value and personality and charisma and one secret sauce.
Can you guess what it is?
It's very simple.
It's the hook.
Hooks make your writing successful on this platform.
Focus on hooks for an additional 10 minutes than 2 hours on an infographic.
Hooks have a better ROI than an infographic.

How many likes is your life worth?
When you write, you infuse your ideas with your personality.
Your voice.
Your stories.
Your life force.
Do you do it for the likes?
Or do you do it for something greater?
Every time you hit post, you send a little bit of your life’s work into the everlasting internet.
Are you writing to make a difference?
Or are you doing it for vanity?
Here’s a little 2 step check I impose on myself to write better:
✦•······················•✦•······················•✦
One: Make a checklist of your principles and values.
Every piece of writing I put out is infused with my values.
With the principles I like to see in myself and in the world.
I write to share them with the world.
And this checklist helps me stay on the right path.
The right theme.
They help me put out the stuff that I'd like to read myself.
So, go make that checklist.
Do it today.
Two: I ignore things that don’t align with my values
There are two kinds of people in this world:
→ people who are easily offended
→ people who work
I think they are mutually exclusive.
Do you?
So the next time you see something you don’t agree with on the timeline, ignore it.
Don’t inject your brain with filth.
Don’t infect your brain with noise.
Remember your values. Your non-negotiables.
Trust me, getting rid of noise is difficult.
It’s better to never let it infect you in the first place.
✦•······················•✦•······················•✦
And that’s it!
It’s simple once you get the hang of it—I practice this rigorously.

If you don't understand why people do what they do, you'll never write great stories.
Take some time to understand human emotions.
It'll save you hours of writing posts that don't feel compelling to anyone.

When I started writing on X, I chased the wrong things:
→ likes and impressions
→ virality
Chasing these pulls you into a black hole.
It just never relents.
Then I switched my perspective.
I started talking about:
→ my problems
→ my solutions
→ my learnings
and now I attract people who're genuinely interested in my journey.
If you're confused about what to share on X, here's the single best thing:
make it your public journal.
As you grow and improve in life, you'll also do it on X.

This simple framework helped me reach my first 500 followers and my first 65 email subscribers:
(This is the secret that other "growth gurus" will charge you $97 for. )
→ Start writing everyday
→ Talk to more successful people in the arena
→ Analyse what their audience is saying about their problems
→ Start writing to mitigate those solutions to capture attention
→ Make a free product to capture more eyes and emails
→ Start getting feedback on your free product
→ Write down potential ideas for more products/services to offer
→ Start building those products and services
→ Post updates about your processes to get more attention
...and keep iterating on the process.
You don't a fancy process, just some common sense, guidance, and systems.

Monologues are good but not on X.
You're not trying to monologue through your writing here.
You're trying to have a dialogue.
Create enough:
→ mystery (to get attention)
→ anticipation (a promise of value)
→ surprise (a neat takeaway)
that they can't help but convey how enjoyable it was to read.

This post got me DMs from 2 people interested in my help with their writing.
A simple reminder to self:
→ write to help people with their problems
→ write to share your experiences
→ write to share your achievements
Everything else is noise.

I get asked this a lot.
And I have the same answer every time.
The question is: How do you know what to write about?
It's simple: you analyze what exists.
You do 3 things:
→ consume the existing information
→ criticize the existing information
→ share your experience with the existing information
First: Get better at analyzing the world.
Second: Critique it and offer your perspective.
Start there.
(DM me if you need some help with this)

Two things I’ve found helped me better my writing:
→ studying the people ahead of me
→ taking help from the people ahead of me
It’s not complicated.
Talk to more people and you’ll be surprised how many are happy to help :)

Why would someone read your post?
Your audience is hooked on:
→ Scrolling Tiktok
→ Scrolling Instagram
→ Scrolling X
You need some Brisk writing to tackle their low-attention spans.
What is that?
Let me show you in three steps:
Step 1: Salivation
If it ain’t making them feel FOMO, it ain’t it.
Make a promise that they can’t scroll past.
That’s the secret to capturing more attention.
Once you do that, you need to keep it.
How?
It’s by:
Step 2: Getting them into a flow
By now, you’ve done 2 things:
→ captured attention
→ promised a result
Now, you take them through a journey.
They should feel as if they’re going from:
→ curious to amazed
→ confusion to understanding
Still here? Great, see how I’ve hooked you towards reading the next step?
Here’s the last step:
Step 3: Make ‘em want more
By the end, make them salivate for more.
Specifically, they should feel the need to do two things:
→ read more from you
→ know more about you
If you can’t do this, you don’t gain any fans.
You don’t grow in followers.
You don’t grow in business.
And that’s it.
The secret to Brisk writing.
(I've used this to escape the beginners hell.)
Hope it helps you too.
