I've had the privilege to back @bsofman at two companies now, and I'm convinced that he the team @BedrockRobotics are unlocking the ability for America to build the infrastructure necessary for continued global leadership and prosperity. I got to attend part of their team's kickoff offsite two years ago, and the amazing thing is - they have achieved WHAT they said they would, WHEN they said they would! Onto the next chapter, with more autonomous machines across more sites, solving a critical labor gap, and building our future. Bravo. Proud investor @deviationcap
Today we announced the first fully autonomous excavators working on their own on commercial sites.
With @Sundt, @ChampSitePrep and Zachry, Bedrock machines are moving earth on three projects in TX and NV.
We started with excavators. The mission goes far beyond one machine.
I was lucky to be introduced to the @Etched founders in March 2024. A couple of weeks later at the full team pitch, our (then TSV) team recorded our votes and comments as usual before speaking and influencing each other. Looking back on that survey, many people mentioned that the valuation felt very high (in the low 100s of millions) for where they were at the time and the competition, and how chips are hard. But every single person wrote about what an incredible young team they were and had assembled: "incredibly impressive team", "have attracted great talent", "very impressive founders", "transformative company". In venture it's so easy to talk yourself out of something, because the risks are everywhere. I'm glad on this one we let the strength of these founders overcome any skepticism, because they have proven to be way more talented than even we thought. Proud to have them in the @deviationcap portfolio.
Exclusive: AI chip startup Etched, founded by Harvard dropouts, has its own in-office data center and has signed quant-trading firm Jane Street as its first customer on.wsj.com/4hIbEhx
Rack 'em up! The first of many. Bravo guys. @Etched @deviationcap
It’s only been 2.5 years since I met @robertwachen and @UbertiGavin, but it is INCREDIBLE to have watched the rate of growth not just at the company @Etched, but in these guys personally as founders and operators. They have built a 400-person company humming at an incredible velocity of innovation. Speed is their product, not just for the racks they’re now shipping, but for the process of designing and manufacturing the systems that will power inference for decades to come. So impressive and so well deserved. Proud for @deviationcap to have been involved since the A.
We’ve raised $300M in Series C funding at a $10.3B valuation from Sequoia, Andreessen Horowitz, Jane Street, Argo, and SK Hynix.
Our mission is to run the world's inference. This round accelerates production of our inference clusters.
We've opened an 80,000-sqft, 10-MW facility 15 minutes from our office to expedite production and prototyping.
Super proud to see @RussTedrake and @WaldenRobotics come out of stealth today, with @deviationcap co-leading their $300m round alongside a phenomenal partner in Toyota. This is a truly generational robotics team who pioneered Diffusion Policy and Large Behavior Models (LBMs) during years that the team was together at Toyota Research Institute, before spinning out earlier this year. All those years of ‘pre-incubation’ of Walden mean that this company has put robots into production within just a few months of being formed - much faster than any company I’ve seen before in this space. Their form factor is perfectly suited to many manufacturing tasks that are bottlenecked today because of lack of available labor. I’ve been looking to back a company like this for years - specifically a wheeled quasi-humanoid that can handle the large amount of smart manufacturing work that is coming back onshore to the U.S. but faces hiring constraints, and I couldn’t have dreamed up a more perfect team. I’m tremendously excited to watch them continue to progress.

This team is ripping! First company shipping a chip designed in the post ChatGPT era. Moving super fast and delivering massive improvements in speed and bandwidth for inferencing. Congrats @UbertiGavin and @robertwachen. Keep going!
My favorite thing about technology is when it makes our real lives better in tangible ways.
Luma, the new offering from Highbeam, does this by empowering D2C brands to stop worrying so much about cash and finance (which every small business owner will tell you they spend way too much time on), and focus more of their time and energy on the reason they started their business in the first place - which is BUILDING THE PRODUCTS THAT THEIR CUSTOMERS LOVE, the things that make their everyday lives better.
AI is a massively enabling technology when harnessed correctly, which is what Luma does. Check it out.
Introducing Luma, a world-class finance team for D2C.
Most AI in finance focuses on tasks. Luma focuses on decisions.
Built on $15B of consumer brand transaction volume.
Proud of our team at Highbeam.

This kind of hustle and complex regulatory wrangling and relentless customer focus is one of those increasingly rare moats investors love! 😍 @remote
Big announcement today at @remote!
We are going all in on 𝗴𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, and opening our platform to the world.
Sounds simple until you try to build it:
Payroll in one country is already a dense topic. Payroll across the world becomes an insane systems problem: tax laws, social security, benefits, holidays, languages, currencies, equity, and local interpretations that change because a government updated a rule somewhere.
When we started Remote, my engineer brain thought we would plug into the payroll APIs that existed around the world.
They mostly did not exist, so we did the hard work.
We set up entities. We built in-house payroll engines. We documented compliance country by country. We learned the local details that make payroll work in practice.
It took seven years. It took a lot of investment. It took a lot of people doing important work.
Today we are opening that infrastructure up.
Any company, any tool, any workflow, any AI agent can plug into Remote and use the global payroll and employment infrastructure we have built.
You keep your systems. We handle the hard parts: payroll, compliance, employment infrastructure, country by country.
I am grateful to our team, our customers, our partners, and everyone who supports us along the way.
Seven years building toward this chapter. The best is yet to come.
Let’s go.

Two Sigma Ventures has spun out of the hedge fund and is now operating as Deviation Capital. It's raising a $300 million fund, per a source wsj.com/pro/venture-capital/… via @WSJ

Introducing Deviation Capital.
Era-defining companies are the exception. They break almost every rule of conventional wisdom as they rise, but start the same way. A founder encounters something broken, invents a way forward others couldn't see, and bets everything on bringing it to life.
We launch today as the spinout of Two Sigma Ventures to find, fund, and support these founders, backing technical teams harnessing data and computing to build enduring exceptions.

The tempting path in robotics: sit in a lab and solve every problem before you ship.
We chose differently at Bedrock. Get into real environments fast, surface actual failure modes, iterate on what matters most.
Some things we thought were urgent? Deferrable way longer than expected. Other things we underestimated? Critical to solve early.
That's the value of building in the real world, you learn what actually matters.
We're hiring people who want to build this way. Check out our open roles down below.

this was a surprise…I appreciate you Reggie! Does everyone just wear whoop now
Very cool. 🏎️
WHOOP x SCUDERI FERRARI 🔥 This one is personally very exciting for me.
Starting in the 2026 season, @whoop will partner with @ScuderiaFerrari as the Official Health and Fitness Wearable Partner and Team Partner.
Ferrari is one of the most iconic performance organizations in the world. For years, I’ve said that our ambition at Whoop is to build the Ferrari of health wearables. I’m proud to bring our brands together.
What excites me most is that this goes far beyond a logo on a car. Whoop will be used across the entire team, and our Performance Science group, led by Dr Kristen Holmes PhD, will work directly with the medical staff supporting Scuderia Ferrari HP to advance our understanding of fitness and recovery in one of the most demanding environments in sport.
We’re honored to work with a partner that takes performance as seriously as we do. Onwards 👊🏼
