…or ask paddle boarders or boat owners to take them out to deeper waters. The recent tides are bringing a lot ashore, where they can dry out and die. You can sometimes see the tiny fish moving the the egg case. #cuttlefish #seashore

Lots of cuttlefish eggs washing up on the beach this morning. We could see some of the cuttle babies inside, which means they're getting ready to hatch! All safely returned to the sea 💙 @WildCoastSussex @SussexWildlife

It’s been an exhausting past few weeks advocating for #HPMAs to support marine recovery in Scottish waters.
Shouted ‘THANK YOU!’ at my TV at the end of the Ocean #WildIsles episode, when discussing Lamlash & the need for highly-protected areas 😭

We are celebrating World Seagrass Day! Did you know that seagrass is thought to capture carbon 35 times faster than a tropical rainforest? We have over 5000 surveys focussing on seagrass here at @DASSH #WorldSeagrassDay #DataScience #Seagrass #Data @thembauk

It’s #WorldSeagrassDay!🌊🌱
🌱 Seagrass is found around the globe, from the tropics to the colder temperate and arctic regions. It supports high biodiversity, removes carbon from our atmosphere and can help protect our shorelines from erosion.

Did you know that Common cuttlefish can live in water up to 200 metres deep but come to shallow waters to breed in spring?
Their eggs are dyed black with cuttlefish ink, giving them the appearance of grapes – also called ‘sea grapes’. 🍇

Did you know that cuttlefish are considered the chameleons of the sea? Cuttlefish have specialised cells, known as chromatophores, which give them the ability to rapidly alter their colour and pattern. They use this talent to evade predators, hunt prey and as a mating strategy.

When Batter didn't get enough attention this morning from our hardworking ecologists she squirted ink on the wall. And the ceiling. A* for coverage.
