Wallets need to be checked, too!
4 data leaks reported today: 1. Coinbase's vendor Amplitude exposed some users’ contact data (funds unaffected). 2. Bithumb (Korea) had user data leaks. In TradFi, two securities firms in Korea leaked data: 3. Mirae Asset 4. Daishin Securities You can't prevent a leak, but you can protect yourself. Leaked exchange data (names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, ID documents, transaction history) is mostly used for phishing, SIM swapping, and social engineering. Reduce info you share - Use a unique email alias for each exchange (SimpleLogin, Apple Hide My Email, etc). A leak then can't be linked to your other accounts, and you can spot which service leaked. - Share only what's required. Don't add optional profile details. - Use a dedicated phone number (a VoIP or secondary SIM) for exchange accounts if you can, since leaked numbers are the main route to SIM swaps. Lock down the account - Use a unique, long password from a password manager. - Turn on hardware security keys (YubiKey) or passkeys, or at least an authenticator app. - Avoid SMS 2FA. - Enable withdrawal address whitelisting and a withdrawal time lock if the exchange offers them. - Set up an anti-phishing code, which puts a code you choose in every legitimate email from the exchange. - Review active sessions and API keys regularly. Delete any API keys you don't use. - Restrict API keys to withdraw-disabled and IP-whitelisted. Defend against - SIM swapping: Ask your carrier to add a port-out PIN or number lock. - Phishing and impersonation: Assume anyone who contacts you about your account, "security issues," or "refund recovery" is a scammer, even if they know your name, balance, or recent trades. - Exchange support staff don't ask for your password, 2FA codes, or seed phrase. - Never click links in emails or texts. Go to the site yourself. - "Wrench attacks": Leaked addresses plus holdings data have led to real-world extortion and robberies. Don't publicize your holdings, and keep large balances out of anything tied to your home address if you can. If a breach is announced 1. Change the exchange password and any other account that reused it. 2. Check haveibeenpwned.com for your email address. 3. Revoke API keys and active sessions. 4. Review recent withdrawals and security settings. 5. Watch for phishing emails and texts that reference the breach, because scammers move fast after one. Stay SAFU! 🙏

🚨$86M+ STOLEN FROM LEDGER USERS! HOW MANY WALLETS ARE NEXT? Hackers may launder stolen funds through thousands of transactions, potentially exposing innocent wallets to frozen deposits and financial losses. ⚠️ You don't have to be hacked to be at risk. 🛡️ D4U recommends: ✅ Check wallet and incoming USDT risks. ✅ Review and revoke suspicious approvals. ✅ Scan addresses before transfers or exchange deposits. D4U — Don't Guess. Just Check! #D4U #Ledger #CryptoHack #Bitcoin #Ethereum #TRON #USDT

We’ve been researching the security risks associated with hardware wallets recently, and today there was an incident involving a stolen hardware wallet. We sounded the alarm last month, but unfortunately, not many people took notice!🥲

Hardware wallets protect keys, not every approval. Singapore Police warned that malicious links can trick users into signing permits that move tokens later. D4U treats signing as a separate checkpoint: verify the authority granted, not just the device holding the key.

The advisory recommends reviewing every signing request and regularly reviewing and revoking permissions granted to websites or apps. police.gov.sg/Media-Hub/News…

USDT arriving in your wallet confirms receipt. It does not decide whether the funds should enter your operating balance. D4U separates two states: Accepted: received on-chain and under your control. OperatingAvailable: payer, purpose, route and record checked before use.

Transaction history is not an address book. Address-poisoning attacks add lookalikes, hoping you copy one later. Before an important USDT payment, D4U’s rule is simple: verify the full address, network and payment context, then send a small test.

Stablecoins are not just for trading anymore. Remittances, merchant settlements, payroll in emerging markets — real utility is growing faster than volatility. But with real use comes real responsibility: keeping funds clean, private, and under your control. D4U was built for exactly that — the daily users, not just the speculators. How are you using #stablecoins in real life right now? Share below. #USDT #Payments #D4U

Your USDT got contaminated, and now it's frozen. Been there. In crypto, "pollution" means your stablecoin touches illicit funds, money laundering addresses, or blacklisted wallets. One bad transaction = your USDT gets flagged, rejected, or debanked. Staying clean isn't optional. It's survival. Don't wait until it's too late.

ZEC just dropped 40%+ after a 4-year-old bug in the Orchard shielded pool. A privacy-first design can make on-chain verification hard, but that also makes trust harder to prove. That’s the real paradox of privacy coins: the deeper you hide, the harder it is to verify safety. Privacy innovation matters, but verifiability should come first.

Privacy is necessary for an open society in the electronic age. Privacy is not secrecy. A private matter is something one doesn't want the whole world to know, but a secret matter is something one doesn't want anybody to know. Privacy is the power to selectively reveal oneself to the world. by Eric Hughes 1993
