Statement On Friday Oct 27th, Elon Musk tweeted “they absolutely want your extinction” in response to an open white supremacist. This is, like many things Musk has done, unacceptable. Twitter has been a captured platform, bigotry has been deliberately increased under the guise of “free speech” even as anti-fascist accounts have been banned. Social media deliberately uses friends and social connections as leverage to keep folks on it. Denton twitter, a collection of Denton social, political, and business accounts, is one such social fabric held hostage by the power of this dynamic. Today, many of us will be migrating to bluesky, a twitter-like app not run by an open white supremacist. We hope you all will follow us there.

The F.U.R.R.I.E.S. Act to ban “Furry” behavior in our schools now has the support of Governor @GregAbbott_TX and Speaker @Burrows4TX, who recognize the importance of keeping distractions out of our classrooms. Speaker Burrows has reassigned our legislation as House Bill 54, a low bill number that signals its priority status in the Texas House! I’m grateful that our leadership is taking this issue seriously and ensuring that Texas schools remain places of learning, not roleplaying. I’ve appreciated the conversations I’ve had with my own Smithville ISD Superintendent on this issue—our educators should be focused on teaching, not managing classroom disruptions from kids pretending to be animals. This is common sense. Let’s get it passed. #txlege

Like I don't know about you but when members of minority groups that I'm not a member of tell me that something is offensive I say "thank you I didn't know that my bad I did not mean to do that" It's weird that no similar tact is being taken here

The city of LA cut $17M from the fire department, but allocated over $100K for a transgender cafe and $170K for social justice artwork. Democrats would rather virtue signal than fund vital public works. Southern California is ablaze because of their reckless decisions.

If only congestion pricing has been implemented in other cities and we could observe whether or not those things happened in those cities, and whether or not congestion pricing became immensely popular a few months after being implemented. Oh well.
