The Conversion Practices Bill is a bad bill: it would introduce gender ideology via the back door. Everyday lesbians, gay men and bisexuals are disproportionately affected by this bill.
Pleased that @AllianceLGB - and our excellent deputy chair Dermot Kehoe - will be giving evidence as part of the committee scrutinising it 👇🏼

🚨The Conversion Practices Bill is arguably one of the most illiberal and invasive pieces of legislation ever brought forward by a Government.
Parents, therapists and religious leaders could face up to five years in prison for having well-intentioned conversations with gender-confused children or sharing the teachings of their faith.
This Bill will rip families apart and hurt the very people it claims to protect.

LGB people are not a prop for this Bill.
Lesbians, gay men and bisexual people have signed our open letter because we believe it could harm children who may grow up LGB — and punish honest discussion rather than protect them.
This Bill does not speak for us. Add your name: lgballiance.org.uk/conversio…

Last year, I warned that water reserves at Wimbleball were critically low at 29%; today, they are 13%.
We haven’t taken water security seriously enough, and it is families and businesses that will suffer.
We must urgently expand and build new water storage.
Exclusive from @breeallegretti
Ministers have been secretly warned that some English reservoirs are at risk of running dry, hitting water supplies to homes in the run-up to Christmas
The government’s emergency committee, known as Cobra, is meeting up to twice a week to discuss the situation in the southwest of England and Sussex
A secret “reasonable worst-case scenario” was drawn up, anticipating that several reservoirs’ water stocks could fall to 0 per cent — dubbed “day zero” — within weeks
Officials warned that without action, supplies to some homes could be affected, along with disruption to the construction of a nuclear power station and operations at a prison
Wimbleball reservoir, which supplies more than 400,000 people in Somerset, has 13 per cent of its capacity, while Ardingly, which serves 280,000 customers across West Sussex, is at 17 per cent

People tweeting about panic buying and empty shelves are:
A) irresponsible
B) posting no pictures cuz it ain’t true
C) most likely seeking engagement.
There’s plenty of food on the shelves, the roads may be busy in places due to half term, it’s fine out there.
We are British. Common sense, not hysteria, please.

It’s a really simple question to answer. Irrespective of who said it : it is racist. It shouldn’t be difficult. EXCEPT with Reform it’s always whataboutery and distracting dead cats on the table

First Danny Kruger, now Robert Jenrick. Why do these gutless turncoats find it so hard to answer whether calling Kemi Badenoch a “Nigerian scammer” is racist?
If Raheem Kassam is just “a journalist”, and not a key part of Nigel’s inner circle, why are they protecting him?
‘Is calling Kemi Badenoch a “Nigerian scammer” racist, yes or no?’
‘…I’m not on your show to talk about what a journalist has tweeted.’

This shouldn't be difficult. @RaheemKassam is a poisonous, nasty piece of work. He shouldn't be within one hundred miles of a mainstream political party.

This is yet another example of Burnham’s foot in mouth syndrome. He hasn’t thought this through or the implications.
Most people who voted for Brexit did so because they didn’t want free movement. Too many politicians have failed to understand the significance and impact of immigration on communities.
We have had more than enough experience of what happens when politicians (including previous Conservative governments) promise control but fail to deliver it. The answer is to learn from those mistakes, not reopen free movement.
🔺 EXCLUSIVE: Andy Burnham has opened the door to Britain readopting the European Union’s free movement rules, arguing that an “honest discussion” is needed, reports @benrileysmith
