I released dozens of open-source projects this year, and promised many times to explain how they fit together. Here it is.
It is one platform for startup factories: from a design drawn with an agent, to real components, to deployment without the extra complexity, to web analytics and runtime observability that tell founders and agents alike what to build next.

That’s the fate of every product that runs client-side. You’re essentially giving away a playbook for how to build it.
The new OpenPencil landing page also showcases how you can embed the editor in your own products.
We’ve also started working on a self-hostable cloud platform, so if you or your design team want a private Figma-like workspace, you can join the waitlist there.

OpenPencil v0.16.0 is out ✏️
Shaders. Interactive components in preview, exported to Storybook. Vue and React code. Comments and voice rooms. Far less memory on big .fig files. A new AI chat that streams designs in.
Open source, Figma compatible.

It’s been a long run. Thanks to all the contributors!

Still fixing a few bugs found in the beta release. Need a few more hours.
In the next OpenPencil release, there will be shader support and Iconify integration. Also: voice chats, Storybook export, and many other highly requested features and fixes. OpenPencil is back in the game!
Most of the features have already landed in master. I need another day for regression testing. ETA: Monday.
Attacking someone else’s data centers when you can’t even protect your own is such a stupid move that I have no words.
2 of Yandex’s 5 data centers are down. First, they lost reserve compute capacity, and now many of their major services have lost redundancy and are partially unavailable.
Yandex has a monopoly on taxi and food delivery services in Russia and a dominant market share in countries like Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.

Also, I want to remind you that this project, along with many of my other projects, is built on top of Volt, an Elixir-native bundler.
Volt has evolved a lot since I last talked about it. It has been tested in many different scenarios, and I now consider it mature enough to move toward 1.0 soon.
If something didn’t work the last time you tried it, consider giving it another look. Happy to hear your feedback.

Big update for PhoenixReplay!
PhoenixReplay records what your LiveViews did on the server (events, navigation, assigns) and replays a session by rendering your own templates again. No DOM snapshots, so a replay shows exactly what the server rendered, and a session takes only a few KB.
It works out of the box: one command installs it, and your views and components need no changes.
What's new in 0.6:
– a one-command install with Igniter: it mounts the dashboard, wires up the browser recorder and turns recording off in tests
– a browser recorder for what the server can't see: the pointer, touches, scrolling, form input and client-side state
– records the viewport, orientation, color scheme and other media settings, so phone and dark-mode sessions replay as the user saw them
– collects SQL queries, HTTP calls and logs, tied to the event that caused them
– tail sampling: record everything, keep sessions with errors, slow queries or marks like "checkout completed"
– a new dashboard where you can find any session by traffic source, campaign, device, browser, release, mark or error, and see your traffic over time
– video export: turn any session into an MP4 for a bug report
– 𝙿𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚡𝚁𝚎𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢.𝚃𝚛𝚊𝚌𝚎, 𝚖𝚒𝚡 𝚙𝚑𝚘𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚡_𝚛𝚎𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢.𝚜𝚑𝚘𝚠 and two agent skills, so coding agents can debug from real sessions
