Final from Atlas Cup USA beats Canada 12-6.
Was tight the whole way but USA finally broke though in the 4th. Cuocco kept Canada from being to mount a comeback.
USA has pulled away. They lead Canada 12-6 with 2:30 to go. Levy had an awesome inside roll for a goal that felt like a dagger.
End of the third, USA leads Canada 8-6. This game has been tight throughout, USA is without Ally Mastroianni after an expulsion foul late in Q2.
Jenika Cuocco and Alecia Nicholas have both been very good in net in this one.
Massive moment late in the second quarter. Ally Mastroianni is called for what looks like a dangerous shot, which is a red card. It's an expulsion foul. Canada to the power play for two minutes, and Mastroianni is out for the rest of the game.
USA leads 6-5 at the break.
Canada leads the USA 3-2 after the first quarter. Looked like it would be 4-2 but Canada was whistled for an illegal screen, coaches didn't like the call at all.
Kinna, Child, and Zizakovic have goals for Canada. Black and Scales have the goals for the US.
Izzy Scane was a little slow to get up after a collision. Trainers were looking at her right arm and shoulder, but it looks like she's coming back in the game.
Unreal. Zed scored to get Haudenosaunee back within one. The US turns it over, and Zed had the chance to tie it with just seconds left but Croddick made a doorstep save.
USA wins 17-16 in a fun physical game.
Haudenosaunee down three, they take a timeout with 1:25 to go. They were within two but a big goal for Spallina provides a little breathing room.
Zed has six goals and two assists. Call me crazy but I think he gets the ball out of this timeout.
Zed Williams draws a penalty on Spallina and the two jaw a little bit afterwards.
Zed scored on the ensuing extra man, and had some more to say to Joey in the penalty box after he did.
End of the third, it's USA over Haudenosaunee 13-9.
Two goals that quarter for Chad Palumbo, he's up to five points in the game.
Strong quarter in net from Van Valkenburg.
Haudenosaunee need to find a way to get some steps to start chipping away.
USA leads the Haudenosaunee 11-7 at the half. Joey Spallina with a hat trick, Matt Campbell four points. Kyle Lewis isn't playing today, but Blaze is in as a runner.
Zed has 4g1a for the Haudenosaunee. Owen Rice has been impressive with two goals.
About ten minutes out from the final men's game here at Atlas Cup, the USA vs the Haudenosaunee.
USA needs to shake off last night's loss to Canada, a good start will be important.
I've been impressed with Winter Rivera and Tayoni Galante as scorers for Haudenosaunee. And of course, Zed.
Great game, Haudenosaunee beat Ireland 18-14.
Haudenosaunee were down 10-5 at the half and played an outstanding second half to come back and win. Sierra Cockerille had seven points, Jalyn Jimerson five goals.
Haudenosaunee get a few quick ones to cut into the deficit, but they still trail Ireland 10-5. Olivia Rosenzweig has four goals for Ireland.
The more Sixes I watch, the more I think lacrosse needs to find better stats to track player impact. Stats from sports like hockey, basketball and soccer definitely have a place in this. Plus/minus, usage rate, distance ran, time on field, maybe all tell us more than just points.
Notable for Team Ireland today, they played Canada that close without Ronan Jacoby in the lineup. Jacoby didn't play so that Ireland could get a better look at some of their other players against elite competition ahead of European Championships in November.
