The dumbest talking point re the ACA. 1999-2009 (pre-ACA): $5,809 to $13,375 = +130% in 10 years, 8.8% per year 2010-2024 (post-ACA): $13,770 to $25,572 = +86% in 14 years, 4.5% per year It also doesn’t capture the millions who gained Medicaid or coverage on the exchanges.

The factoid that '50% of marriages end in divorce' was kinda true decades ago. But the divorce rate peaked in 1980. Now, less than 40% of all marriages since 2000 end in divorce. For college graduates, it's under 30%. For college graduates who get married after age 25, and who don't have any kids before marriage, it's under 20%. Anybody promoting the outdated, deceptive 50% rate has some kind of anti-marriage or anti-natalist agenda. It scares young people away from getting married and having kids. That is their goal.

Matt Yglesias tells an incredible story on The Argument podcast. Apparently a pollster working for pro-choice groups told Matt that one of the best polling messages for abortion rights is that if you banned it, poor people would have more kids they couldn't take care of.

I like Jalen, but Tanner McKee has pretty much an identical stat line (57.7 cmp%, 215 yards, 1 TD) to Jalen Hurts’ average on the year (58 cmp%, 1.6 TD, 186 ypg). One would hope your $51m a year starter plays significantly better than your backup QB.
