Road safety features were removed quickly in downtown without notice, and without public comment.
Keep this in mind next time they tell us that safety changes at deadly intersections require studies and months of community engagement.

Yesterday the City of St. Louis Planning Commission adopted the Transportation & Mobility plan as a part of the city's comprehensive plan. This is the first new, citywide transportation plan adopted in St. Louis since 1948. The plan is available here: tmp-stl.com/get-involved

Despite hiring @wsp to redesign this section of Grand Ave with ARPA funds, @STLCityGov and WSP chose to make no changes to this area of South Grand.
To make our streets safer, we need narrower lanes, raised crosswalks, and center medians .

On Saturday night, CITY was honored by @HRC as Champions of Equality for our partnership with the LGBTQ+ community 🌈.
Huge thanks to our CITY Moves LGBTQ+ partners, SG leaders, and incredible fans who have co-created a welcoming experience at CITYPARK from day one.
The journey has just started; there's plenty more work to be done, but the team at the club (and on that stage) is proud of what has happened so far and excited to build on the progress. 🚀

A sea change is happening in St. Louis around sustainable mobility.
The city has quietly announced more than $300m in street safety infrastructure set to roll out over three years thanks to funds from the American Rescue Plan and other federal grants. usa.streetsblog.org/2024/09/…

“St. Louis is proud enough to know it can be great, and humble enough to know it needs you—needs every last one of us—to get there.”

Below is Tower Grove Park--the second largest park in Saint Louis and a gem to the region. This is a story about @STLCityGov and its engineering consultant @lochgroup sacrificing access to that park and the safety of the children who play there to cars.
