After the @EU_Commission fined Musk's platform โฌ120M for breaching transparency rules under the DSA, Musk and various USA politicians have slammed the EU, accusing it of suppressing free speech. Musk even called for the EU to be abolished over it. ๐ฅ
But what does the 2025 World Press Freedom Index say?
The WPFE shows that the top 15 countries in the world for press freedom are all in Europe, with 12 of them being EU member states. The other 3 are closely linked to the EU through EEA and EFTA. ๐
So, is the EU really undermining free speech, or are they just holding tech giants accountable for transparency? ๐ค

All my thoughts are with the people from Morocco, badly hit by the earthquake. Itโs difficult to find the words to express solidarity with the victims. The EU and Member states are is moving to provide support. Letโs hope that we can save many.
