I bought one of those rich people tempurpedic pillows for like $200 and I regret to inform it’s genuinely the best money I’ve ever spent lol. I look forward to bed every night just to sleep on it 😂😂
the crazy part isnt even the letter itself, it's the fact that they're basically saying "you need to reply and schedule a meeting with us"
imagine the government forcing you to meet them just because you make 200k lol
if i was British i'd be out of there by tomorrow morning
> make 200k/year in London
> after taxes it's 100-120k
> after rent/mortgage/bills/life expenses etc, you're left with 50k/year savings maybe, if even???
sure you're not struggling, but if that's considered "wealthy" u legit live in a third world country lol

Besides this being beyond the pale even for truly wealthy residents, please note what the UK gov and HMRC classify as wealthy.
Britain is literally proving the term Europoor in all of its glory
In honor of this, will be sharing some items for UK friends on leaving

When I was buying my flat in London I got cash from my dad. But that wasn’t enough, they investigated even my dad to find out how he got the monies. My dad does not even reside in the UK.
The UK investigated my father who is not a UK citizen, who never lived in the UK, and who made all his money by working hard.
Imagine what they’ll do to UK citizens if this is how they treat non-residents.
the UK government have now formed a task force to hunt down wealthy people and find out every detail of their affairs
the UK’s descent into a dystopian, authoritarian nightmare continues unabated

HMRC has quietly sent hundreds of letters to wealthy people asking them to reveal what they own. Not what they earn or what tax they've paid, but what they own.
Here's what's going on. A unit called the Wealthy Team covers anyone with "incomes of £200,000 or more, or assets equal to or above £2m in any of the last three years". That's about 850,000 people. The letters ask for a meeting to discuss "sources of wealth", "future intentions", trusts, companies, family arrangements and even "significant life events" you expect in the coming years.
It is presented as voluntary, but there's a nudge: "We may still need to carry out compliance checks on your tax returns. However, speaking with you first may help avoid this."
Until now, inspectors have usually only asked about income and earnings. Experts call this a "sea change". One lawyer asked the obvious question: "does HMRC have a right to know what someone owns and not simply that they have paid the right amount of tax?" A tax adviser said: "No other G20 country asks for this level of detail from its taxpayers about what they own."
So what is it for? Advisers suspect it is groundwork for an exit tax, a charge on your wealth for leaving the country. As one put it: "Building that knowledge could indeed be part of moving towards an exit tax."
You don't have to be a billionaire to see the problem.
lol they genuinely thought they're "on the same team"
libtards are going to learn some things the extremely hard way over the next few years
A completely immorally surreal scene in Lyon: France 🇫🇷
A woman begs the rioters to put out the fire they set at the entrance to the building where children are trapped because the firefighters are blocked further down the street by barricades they erected. The protester tells her, "I don't give a damn, we're young, we want rights."
