The extension of excluding mental illness and advance requests are two separate issues - a MP could easily oppose one and support the other - and should be voted on individually.

A partial victory for those of us opposed to MAID on the sole grounds of mental illness (but MAID Track 2 itself, which many of us also oppose, remains, and now advance directives are coming).
NEW: Carney government will introduce a bill to uphold the exclusion of access to MAID for those whose sole underlying condition is mental illness.
Bill will also allow for advance MAID requests for people who have illnesses that will cause them to lose capacity later
