Reform trying to spin council by-elections 🤔 Here are some more accurate figures 👇 Council by-election wins since 16 September: 🔵 Conservatives: 12 🔴 Labour: 10 🟠 Lib Dems: 4 🟦 Reform: 2
Reform UK recorded a resounding 31.2% vote share across yesterday’s by-elections, way ahead of both Labour and the Tories. Britain wants Reform. 🇬🇧

More of this please!
This new build near Holborn continues the old tradition of putting the construction date on the drainpipes.

Robert Jenrick didn’t turn up to vote on the ECHR vote in the HoC today. I’d say he should be deselected. But by the looks of it his voters are already planning to.

The @Conservatives absolutely right to vote on leaving the ECHR - something I've been saying for years! I am "slipped" from votes today; being in Liverpool for a Pensions Conference as part of my role as a Shadow Minister - in case any over excited journalists assume I'd gone 💦

Lots of Reformbots jumping on a complete non-story tonight. Seemingly all of them not noticing one of their own wasn’t present to vote in the HoC. Meanwhile a huge story about the endemic racism and misogyny in their party drops. I wonder why they’re deflecting?

Labour have voted to allow asylum accommodation in Piddington, putting the safety of local women and girls at risk. The Lib Dems didn’t even show up to vote. The @Conservatives voted to oppose it, leave the ECHR and deport illegal migrants. We are on the side of women and girls.

Listening to Andy Burnham’s speech in Parliament. Make no mistake, we’re heading into an early general election which will be predicated on a new deal with the EU.

Problem, meet solution. Taxes are already at record highs. The Chancellor must instead tackle his out-of-control welfare spending.

Last week I called Andy Burnham's speech consequential, but it was very much full, as Ed Davey said, full of 'definitely maybes' by 2040. @KemiBadenoch delivered a belter of a speech today, full of sparkle, but also setting out basic Conservative principles and full of policy meat. The IHT promise will get the headlines but there was far more to it than that. The stuff about the Reform "weirdos" and ruling our reuniting the right should get attention, plus the passage on her ethnicity and what it means to be English, where she absolutely socked it to Suella Braverman without naming her. The passage on how to bring about growth was especially strong. I've been attending party conferences for 40 years. This one got off to a slow start, but ended with the party members going home with a spring in their step. Rarely, if ever, in those 40 years, have I seen a party so united behind its leader - both MPs and party members. And to achieve that within less than two years of becoming leader is quite an achievement. Yes, last year's conference speech was a turning point, but so was her firing of Robert Jenrick. With one decisive step, she ripped out the cancer, and has never looked back. It's now up to her shadow cabinet to demonstrate that this isn't a one woman party.

Right, if people are going to keep mispronouncing Holborn I’m changing channel.

Reform report finds Reform did nothing wrong. I used to like marking my own homework too!

Reform politicians have spent the last few years slating the Conservative Party, all while expecting Conservatives to fall in behind Farage to “Unite The Right”. Farage who welcomed Jenrick with open arms. Why should I ever trust the likes of Jenrick? 1/2

He went up and down this country earned the trust of people like me only to defect to Reform. He betrayed a lot of hard-working party activists and volunteers. The very fact that Reform put taking on defectors for the sake of publicity tells you all you need to know. 2/2

Inheritance Tax punishes people for working hard, saving, and leaving something for their children. That’s why we Conservatives are taking the first step towards abolishing it completely. We will scrap Inheritance Tax completely on the family home and raise the threshold for other assets to £1 million for a couple. We are on the side of people who work hard.
