Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. - Ephesians 4:32

The trend and phenomenon of drum cages in churches is a mystery.

“I’m a religious person. I read the scriptures a lot, meditate and pray, light candles in church. I believe in damnation and salvation, as well as predestination. The Five Books of Moses, Pauline Epistles, Invocation of the Saints, all of it.” - Bob Dylan. 2022.

An unfortunate feature of online apologetics is how quickly ordinary disagreements become moral accusations. Sometimes simply affirming a standard interpretation merits charges of being a liar, fraud, etc.
The culture we are building is unhealthy and unsustainable. Let's return to love, reflection, the beatitudes, being "slow to speak, slow to anger."
I saw a country western band last night “The Soda Crackers”. No click tracks, backing tracks, accompaniment tracks, no AutoTune, no drum cage, no video screen or misters or smoke machine and it was delightful and kept thinking about how far so much of the current church music vibe has gone in a different direction.
I am starting a Substack - and this will be up at dankimball.substack.com which you subscribe there all in the free Substack version. This first posting is going to be looking at the contemporary Christian music world and role of the music leader in the church. Also the Notes part of Substack I am on is: substack.com/@dankimball
If you know me at all, music is incredibly a major part of my life but there has been so many fast moving changes and emphasis with music in the church we may need to stop and reflect on this and the warning James 3:1 gives which applies to the serious responsibility of those selecting songs that the church sings.
The Substack links are in the bio links here where I will be posting it if interested and also the link to Substack Notes which is like the X-Twitter part of Substack. Much should be discussed on this topic and some deep thinking as I believe it greatly influences all those in churches every Sunday.

January 14 - Proverbs chapter 14. Reading a Proverb chapter every day this year so will go though Proverbs 12 times. Thank you to Phil Comer for the example who has practiced this for decades and is one of the most wonderful examples of a Christian I have ever known.
