Petrino does a very good job with his personnel.
Each back has their runs, each TE their role, and each WR their route tree.
He's not trying to force an offense onto players. The players determine the play calls.

I had a kid that was missing a lot of practice so I checked in. He said “I’m sorry, my parent is not trying to take me anywhere for 🏈 ”. That’s what our kids deal with sometimes! So I said “we’ll be there to pick you up next practice” no ?’s asked
✔️ on your guys!

Having a bend but don’t break defense in high school will make you successful. It’s tougher to ask a HS offense to be perfect for 15 plays every series. Mistakes will be made. Coach to be gap sound and stop the run.

Coaches who blame kids should clean Taco Bell bathrooms.
Teach, the teach again, adapt, modify, overcome. Quit blaming a 16 year old because he can’t read your RPO you got from Madden

Stokes Celtics 5’10 2029 Brett Lyons (North Surry HS) is a scrappy high motor guard who impacts both ends of the floor with his athleticism, energy and effort. He’s a harassing on ball defender who can take it away from you in the blink of an eye! Brett is a threat with the jumper from all areas. He has a smooth stroke complete with a high release. He can score it off dribble pull-ups and is so impressive how, despite his size he is able to get inside and score among bigger defenders. He plays through contact nicely and is a crafty finisher with an amazing touch from different angles and using the glass effectively. He can get his shot under most any circumstance with his creativity, skill level. Brett is averaging 18 ppg during the event and had back to back 20+ point games. He scored 31 points in a late January win for North Surry HS against Oak Grove! Yea, he can score it! #BigShots #MyrtleBeachLive1 @BigShotsToday @BigShotsGlobal

The best football coaches aren’t the ones with eight 5 ⭐️’s that go 15-0. The best coaches are the ones that go 5-5 with a bunch of home grown kids and have to coach like hell to win those 5.

Football is the last sport where your high school still matters most. No expensive club teams controlling your path. Ball out on Friday nights, make good grades, put good film on tape, and you'll get recruited. The gridiron hasn't become a pay-to-play pipeline. #GrindOn
Seen this a lot in coaching travel ball in the last decade at these ages…half court man and an occasional zone trap after a score is it for our teams…my wife coaches too and loves the shell drill…we don’t always win and that’s ok, I do think we develop @FoothillsBBall

As an AD, I believe athletics shouldn’t be the first thing we take away as punishment.
For some students, athletics are where they find confidence, purpose, belonging, and build resilience.
Too often, we think removing sports will help students improve in other areas. Instead, we should find other ways to hold them accountable while keeping them connected to one of the most positive influences in their lives.
The impact a coach can have on a student-athlete can be life changing. In many cases, athletics aren’t the problem… they’re part of the solution.
