Ladies Day at Boreham Wood yesterday but I'll be honest it wasn't the best weather for the ladies (unless you like a wet looking Zak Brunt). Not ideal conditions, but in the end the ideal result for the National League leaders theheadscout.com/post/ladies…

Wet one today in North Londonshire... Boreham Wood v Fylde in what I expect to be a National League cracker 💥⚽

Celta too good for Celtic in the battle of the Celts at Celtic Park last night, a Europa win on the road for the Spaniards, who are well coached and have some serious footballers in their team theheadscout.com/post/alfred…

Cup action from Anstey last night! Nomads in no mood to allow Macclesfield an easy ride but the National League North side eventually came out on top, three belting strikes later and it's the Silkmen who travel to Mansfield in round one. Some words... theheadscout.com/post/mac-at…

Love what Gattuso is doing at Lazio. Solid defensively, quick in attack, powerful all over! Top team! Isaksen has long been Premier League fodder for me, Belahyane brilliant, Provstgaard looks class! Absolutely bossed Juventus tonight!! 🇮🇹

🚨 The Independent Football Regulator has released its 'State of the Game' report. It highlights a game loaded with both revenue and risk. - Clubs brought in £9bn in revenue in 2025/26. - English teams receive an average of £80m from qualifying for the UCL. Chelsea won over £84m for winning the Club World Cup in 2025. - Clubs have grown 10x faster than the UK economy since 1992. - And yet 94% of clubs still make losses. - 32 clubs stated they couldn't survive 30 days without owner funding. - 20% of Premier League clubs and 60% of EFL and National League teams are technically insolvent. - Sale of select assets, such as a women's team or a hotel, to comply with financial rules is termed 'creative compliance', and something the IFR will proactively look at. - Report notes "increased enforcement and litigation could raise costs and reduce the attractiveness of investing in English football." - Recommendations include a focus on revenue distribution, reducing losses, financial and corporate governance, and formulation a National League-specific strategy. Other points from today's Manchester launch: - IFR has within its power the right to force Manchester City's owners to sell, or assess #MCFC's license, if they deem the Premier League charges warrant this. Won't get involved until the case, inclusive of appeals, has concluded. - Chair David Kogan reiterated he will resign if he ever feels the IFR's independence is compromised. "My independence is absolute". - Confidence the EPL and EFL will agree a new funding deal soon. EPL add: "We believe the proposal we have made to the EFL, which was unanimously approved by Premier League clubs in July, meets the objectives the IFR has set out in its Report. The League remains committed to concluding a long-term partnership with the EFL that is fair, generous and balances the interests of all clubs."

I watched Coventry City destroy a half arsed Monaco (who aren't bad) in a pre season friendly with pure Pace & Power! Thought they might do ok in the Premier League this season. Currently battering Newcastle, with too much pace & power!!! All the new boys look 👌🏿 💪🏿

A couple of corkers yesterday with a left footed rocket each to open and close the game. Ollie Bostock brilliant for Boston but Sahid Kamara snatched it for Southend. Some words on my blog here theheadscout.com/post/lethal…

Tough watch last night as troubled Ilkeston Town were beaten 1-0 by a decent looking Warrington Rylands in the Northern Premier League. Watch out for Calum Costello who's a little Irish baller theheadscout.com/post/a-matt…
