UK rejects Witkoff’s description of Putin as a “humanist”: He has killed thousands
The UK has pushed back against describing Russian dictator Vladimir Putin as a “humanist,” as US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff did.
The statement was made by UK Prime Minister’s spokesperson Kate Simmons during a briefing with journalists.
She stressed that Britain “certainly does not agree with this characterization.”
“Putin has killed thousands of people — both innocent Ukrainians and his own citizens, Russians whom he has sent to their deaths on the front lines. He is depriving children and elderly people of heating and systematically attacking critical national infrastructure,” the spokesperson said.

U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff has been criticized for calling Russian President Putin a "humanitarian" following the release of U.S. citizen Stephen Hubbard on Wednesday. Hubbard was jailed for four years in a Russian prison.
Roger Carstens, the former U.S. presidential envoy for hostage affairs, tells CBS News' @errolbarnett that calling Putin a humanitarian may be a small price to pay for securing an American's freedom.

🇺🇦🇷🇺 Zelensky thinks even RUSSIA would be safer if Ukraine joined NATO.
Yes, the same NATO expansion Moscow has spent years opposing.
He argues that NATO membership would provide Russia with greater security than keeping Ukraine outside the alliance.
“I believe that even the Russians need Ukraine to join NATO, because that would provide them with greater security than Ukraine remaining outside NATO.”
Dude, I don't know who advised you to say that, but it wasn't exactly the smartest thing you've ever said.

🚨🇩🇪🇷🇺🇺🇦 Germany has just arrested a Ukrainian national suspected of SPYING for Russia...
German prosecutors identified the suspect as Vadym Y., alleging he'd been in contact with a Russian intelligence service through an intermediary since at least July 2025.
Authorities say he collected information on armored-vehicles, ammunition, and explosives production, as well as military personnel and installations involved in protecting NATO's eastern flank.
Some information was publicly available, but prosecutors allege he also sought details directly from people working in Europe's defense industry.
The suspect is due before a federal judge, who will decide whether he remains in pre-trial detention.

🇷🇺🇺🇦🇺🇸 Putin says Russia, Ukraine and the U.S. could soon be back at the same table
“We agreed that we are ready to resume our trilateral contacts.”
The talks would be about keeping both Ukraine and Russia secure once peace deals are actually reached.
Planning security for after the peace deal sounds great, they just need the peace deal first.

Moscow is pitching a fertilizer export expansion to help U.S. famers as they face soaring costs. The offer comes as the first Russian diesel tanker prepares to sail for the States.
It’s another move in Putin’s broader strategy of using trade to advance the Kremlin’s agenda.
