Ah, actually twelve years. I had to create a second account and swap it with this one when I joined Twitter, so this is the vestigial account. I was really just trying to stop the persistent notification about my Twitter anniversary, but it didn’t work. I still get notified. #Bug
It’s been eleven years since I joined Twitter. My intention was to put my toe in the water for network security positions, but I ended up getting approached by Twitter themselves! I landed the next three jobs, including my current one, by Twitter as well. #MyTwitterAnniversary
When you flush your phone during a drunken stupor insurance ships you a new phone pronto; but when, after years of gentle use, something stops working without obvious damage it’s kind of like trying to talk your way into the cool kids party when you just got a scoliosis brace.

OK, so the “Prince William is the World’s Sexiest Bald Man” thing is an intentional PR stunt, but can I just take a moment to say how unfair it is that Patrick Stewart hasn’t been trending more in this discussion? I mean, talk about aging with class...
Replying to @danbarker
Summary:
1. A PR put out a badly researched piece to get Longevita in the news.
2. The Sun picked it up as it fits stuff they talk about.
3. The Independent nudged a bit of extra authenticity by calling it a 'Google study'
4. They both 'straight faced' it, allowing criticism.
I’m back after a mysterious account suspension. Even my cat’s account was suspended. The mysterious powers that be behind the Twitter curtain have reinstated the account without further explanation. I hope it was just an errant algorithm.
First Amazon, now Foxconn. When are local governments going to wake up to the fact that giving huge subsidies to private companies is just that, a subsidy, and not an investment? This one was particularly bad because it was Trump’s harebrained scheme. wsj.com/articles/foxconn-tor…
I’ve flown 4 out of 15 of these now-defunct airlines. I miss Pan-Am and TWA for their full-service approach, and I miss Continental for being on-time, unlike United. popularmechanics.com/flight/…

For future reference, you can expect to see a lot of Op-Ed’s and editorials picking apart every one of Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s statements for literal truth, while huge misstatements of fact by establishment politicians go unchecked. It’s a man’s world. washingtonpost.com/politics/…
AT&T is either misleading customers by calling enhanced LTE “5G Evolution”, or the entire 4G/5G paradox is misleading. I vote for the latter. Same thing happened with “4G”. theverge.com/2019/1/7/181723…
Zuckerberg San Francisco General is the only level-1 trauma center in San Francisco metro area—and they aren’t in-network with a single private insurer! That means HUGE surprise bills for everyone not on Medical/Medicare. vox.com/policy-and-politics/…
@CenturyLink has a network outage in 15 data centers, affecting emergency services. That can only be a failure of network architecture and insufficient redundancy.

Elon Musk wants cave rescuers defamation suit dismissed. If this happens, it means that defamation doesn’t count if it’s on Twitter. That doesn’t sound right to me. apple.news/AikYZzr8XRYygQeg8…

Sure, we could require that everyone on food stamps work, or we could require that employers pay a living wage and reserve food stamps for those who are too old, disabled, or disadvantaged to work. If everyone who needed food stamps could work, they would. salon.com/2018/12/20/trump-p…
