Building Runnory means I constantly get compared to Zombies, Run! I love what they built, but we're moving from static MP3s to a live engine that generates the story from your actual heart rate.
Here’s why:

I built a 5-node LangGraph pipeline for one specific reason: I wanted a running app that actually listened to my body instead of just playing a fixed track.
Zombies, Run! is a masterpiece, but here is exactly why I built a generative alternative 👇
We frequently get asked how Runnory differs from the legacy audio running apps that pioneered this space.
The short answer: they treat your run as a listener. We treat your physiology as the input.

Zombies, Run! defined the audio running
genre. It has 11M+ downloads, and it is
excellent.
But as an ultrarunner, I wanted a story
that actually responded to my heart rate,
rather than just playing a pre-recorded track.
So I built an alternative. Here's how they
differ📷
I am building this as a solo dev. I do not have
a 14-year library of voice acting.
If you want a serialised plot with recurring
characters, use Zombies, Run.
If you want your biometrics to write the story
in real time, use Runnory.
The core app is coded, but I am currently
stuck in the Strava API review queue before I
can open the beta.
You can read the full breakdown of the two apps

Fitness apps treat us like machines. Pace, elevation. Cold data.
But every run is an experience and a triumph.
I just finished an MVP tracker that turns raw GPS into your personal narrative.
Your run. Your story.
