Well no. And Coogler addressed this when the movie came out. Xenophobia is coloring yalls interpretation and leading to these racially shallow and simplistic takes. The juke was never a Black safe space, the KKK sold it to them and was coming for them in the morning regardless
i first heard it on tiktok but my initial thoughts were that itβs an old song iβve never heard, thatβs being popularized like the others coz itβs that good
it would be funny if she doesnβt get a nom after all that campaigning

1.7 million losers! All of them!
EXCLUSIVE: βA Court of Splintered Harmony,β the sixth book in Sarah J. Maas' blockbuster fantasy series βA Court of Thorns and Roses,β sold 1.7 million copies on its release date.
That's up 600% from the release day sales for βACOTARβ Book 5, βA Court of Silver Flames,β in 2021.
βWhen I write, Iβm only thinking about the characters and the stories I want to tell,β Maas said in a statement to Variety. βTo see how much these books mean to so many people and the way readers have shown up for this one really blows my mind. Itβs a feeling I canβt even comprehend, but Iβm just beyond grateful.β

end this nonsense immediately
I think Swahili is enough as a standalone ethnic identity. Even though the average Swahili person is more Arab shifted, both phenotypically and genetically, than even Sudanese Riverain Arabs, adopting the βAfro Arabβ label would grossly understate their deep historical ties to coastal East Africa.
The only language they speak is Swahili or its dialects. Also its a language their African, Arab, Indian and to a smaller extent Portuguese ancestors helped shape.
The Swahili Coast is home to one of Africaβs oldest and most established civilizations, with a long history of urban settlements stretching from northern Mozambique through Tanzania and Kenya to southern Somalia.
Their language and culture is so rooted that even other Africans, Yemenis, Omanis and others who settled along the coast over the past few centuries largely assimilated into Swahili society rather than the other way around.
I see no value in abandoning the Swahili classification, or closely related sub groups like Barwani, Bajuni and Benadiri, in favour of the Afro Arab label.
